Our story begins in early spring 2019, when Emily was living condo life on Whyte Ave and Kyle was holding it down in the suburbs of Chappelle. Like all great modern romances, ours started on dating apps—twice. The first time we matched, we bonded over a mutual love of music—especially metal. Things were off to a really strong start… until one of us sort of ghosted the other (who exactly? Depends on who you ask). Luckily, we got a 2nd chance just a couple weeks later. We matched again after Kyle recognized Emily as “the girl who likes that one band” andddd it was pretty much over for her after that. ♡ On August 26, we made it official! That fall, Em’s new roommate suggested an apartment to rent— which turned out to be in Chappelle. Plot twist: their new sort-of neighbor was Kyle and the rest is history. From casual chats and sharing playlists to headbanging at actual concerts and long drives with music cranked way too loud, our shared love of music, art, cats and video games sparked a bond that only kept growing. In 2021, we moved in together and became a full-on household—complete with our two cats, Dahlia (chaotic good) and Gemini (tiny menace). Now we’re cat parents, concert buddies, best friends, and soon-to-be newlyweds. And yes, we’re still debating who ghosted who… but we both agree on saying ‘I do'. ♡
