Kum, Kuma & Oficijant

In Croatia, the equivalent of the maid of honor and best man are called “Kuma” and “Kum.” There’s a Croatian saying, “Bog na nebu, kum na zemlji” – God in heaven, kum on Earth. It’s not just a catchy phrase. It reflects how seriously this bond is taken. A kum/a shows up. For the weddings and celebrations, of course, but also for the funerals, the hospital visits, and the heavy moments. Sometimes, being a kum/a means nothing more than sitting together in silence, sipping coffee and letting the world slow down for a bit. It’s that quiet presence, that unspoken understanding, that makes it so unique. We are overjoyed to have Sam and Meg beside us on this monumental occasion.

Officiant

We’re especially honored to have Noah’s middle brother officiating our ceremony. Having someone we love so much—and has been part of our story from the start—makes this moment even more meaningful. It feels incredibly special to exchange our vows with family at the heart of it all.
