FAQs

We've done our best to address the most commonly asked questions below. If you don't see information on our website, please reach out to Kate or Nolan!
Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We adore your little ones, but we kindly ask that no one under the age of 12 attend the ceremony or reception. If you cannot secure childcare on your own, we have reserved a nanny service who will watch any children under 12. We are planning to have them on-site at the venue in the groom and/or bridal suite(s). A light dinner will be provided. When you RSVP, please notate the number of children under 12 that you will need childcare for. Kindly inform us of any special needs your child(ren) may have. Children are invited to attend the welcome dinner and day-after brunch but must be indicated in your RSVP.

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

Please plan to arrive no later than 3:30 p.m. to find your seat and settle in. Ceremony will start promptly at 4 and we cannot accommodate late arrivals. *We will be featuring a live artist at our wedding who will do guest portraits! Be sure to stop by and take a quick photo when you arrive so she can paint you while you celebrate.*

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Our wedding is semi-formal with a boho-vintage vibe, and we’d love for everyone to dress in semi-formal attire. Boots & cowboy hats are welcome! Please, no shorts. The celebration will take place outdoors & indoors, so please plan accordingly. For the Gentlemen: Think refined but relaxed. Dress pants, chinos, or pressed jeans with a button-down shirt fit the vibe perfectly — a tie or sport coat/blazer is optional but always a nice touch. Earthy tones, light fabrics, and comfortable dress shoes or boots are encouraged. No tuxes or suits required — just come looking sharp and feeling comfortable! For the Ladies: We suggest midi or maxi dresses, a chic pant suit, or dressy blouse with tailored pants. We encourage flowy fabrics, and earthy or muted tones that complement the natural setting. Heels, wedges, cute sandals, or dressy boots are perfect. Feel free to add soft textures, floral prints, or vintage-inspired details for a touch of boho charm. Aim for a look that’s elegant yet effortlessly relaxed. While not required, our suggested color scheme is warm fall: mid-dark oranges, deep shades of red or purple, light pinks, mid-dark greens, browns and tans. Floral and other patterns welcome! *Kindly avoid wearing white or ivory.*

Question

Will transportation be provided?

Answer

Yes! A shuttle will run between Hotel Indigo and the venue, as well as from the venue parking lot to the ceremony and reception space. We are currently exploring additional shuttle stops at other hotel block locations. To help us finalize these plans, please let us know your accommodations when you book. If you’re staying elsewhere, plan to drive to the venue’s designated parking area, where a shuttle will bring you up to the event. Check back here closer to the date for the full shuttle schedule.

Question

What’s the weather like this time of year?

Answer

October in Gatlinburg is absolutely beautiful — the fall colors are at their peak! You can expect mild days, usually in the high-60s to mid-70s, and cooler evenings that can dip into the 50s. We recommend bringing a light jacket or wrap.

Question

Can I take photos during the ceremony?

Answer

We're having an unplugged ceremony — we kindly ask that you put away phones and cameras so our photographers can capture the moment — but please feel free to snap and share photos during the cocktail hour & reception!

Question

Can I bring a plus-one?

Answer

Please check your invitation — if it includes “and guest,” you’re welcome to bring someone along! If not, we’d love to celebrate with just you this time. When you RSVP, please provide the name of any guests and/or children over 12 attending.

Question

Will there be food and drinks?

Answer

Absolutely! We’ll have cocktail hour appetizers, buffet dinner, and a dessert bar. The drinks are on us — enjoy signature cocktails, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages. Come hungry and ready to celebrate!

Question

Is there anything special I should pack?

Answer

Since we’re in the mountains, it’s smart to bring comfortable shoes, a jacket/sweater, and maybe an umbrella, just in case. And don’t forget your camera — the views are incredible in October!
