The isolating effects of the pandemic were felt worldwide, and the theater community in Houston was no exception. Fortunately, one particular group of misfits was as adaptable as they were attention-starved. Stephanie, Chelsea's lifelong friend and Houston transplant, pivoted from hosting Not So Girls Nights at her apartment to hosting them via zoom, and without the impractical commute, Chelsea was invited to meet the very best parts of the city that had stolen her best friend's heart. The effects of this were greatly underestimated by all involved. Nolan, who was lucky enough to be included in Stephanie's COVID pod, had developed a habit of paying particular attention to Chelsea's square of the screen. This did not escape Stephanie's notice, nor did she keep it to herself, because we have excellent taste in friends. Marvel marathons evolved into debates, which segued into conversations and splintered into late night chats. We had our first date in our respective kitchens, where we each made pasta and watched The Princess Bride. When it was safe to travel, Chelsea visited Houston, and following a panicked and circular tour of the corridors and stairwells in Stephanie's apartment building, we finally shared our first kiss. Over the next year, we went on as many adventures together as we could afford, grateful for the technology that allowed us nearly constant contact to make up for the physical distance. The very first time Nolan visited Gainesville, he decided he was home. Dreams became plans and mountains moved, and now we will all come together to celebrate the path we have traveled and the road ahead.
