Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Cocktail or formal attire. For dresses, floor length, midi, tea length, or cocktail dresses all work great! Jumpsuits, pantsuits, tuxedos, suits (with or without a jacket) and ties are also all welcomed! Our outdoor ceremony site is on grass, so flats or thicker heels will probably be easiest to walk on.

What time should I arrive to the ceremony?

Answer

We plan to start the ceremony promptly at 4:00pm since it gets dark pretty early in December. The ceremony site is also a little hidden, so it would be great to arrive around 3:30 to give yourself a little extra time if you're planning on driving yourself.

Is there parking at the venue?

Answer

There is ample parking! Cars can even be parked overnight and just need to be removed from the venue by 11 a.m. on Sunday. Shuttles to and from The Residence Inn will also be provided.

Can I take pictures during the ceremony?

Answer

We will have a professional photographer documenting the ceremony and would love for you to just fully enjoy the moment with us rather than taking pictures.

What is the weather like in North Carolina that time of year? Will the wedding day events take place indoors or outdoors?

Answer

There is no telling what the NC weather will bring, but the average high for early December is around 60 degrees and December is typically one of the drier months of the year. https://www.themeadowsraleigh.com/weddings#weddingsvenue Ceremony: weather permitting, we will be having a short outdoor ceremony at "The Meadows" ceremony site of the venue, which is a grass meadow. If there is inclement weather, the ceremony will take place indoors in Heron Hall. Cocktail hour: the cocktail hour will be held indoors at Heron Hall with the option of going out to the covered patio, which is equipped with heaters and fans. Reception: the reception will be held indoors in Heron Hall.

Attire suggestion is dressy casual: blouses and skirts, casual or cocktail dresses, blouses and pants, jumpsuits, or dress pants and button down shirts

Room reservations in our hotel block at The Residence Inn will be available until October 20, 2023.
