We don't know when we met exactly, but both of our families moved to Cary, NC in the mid-'90s and we happened to grow up about 3 miles from each other. We didn't really know each other until high school, but we always like to joke that maybe we were secret friends as younger children. Fast forward to AP US Government & Politics at Green Hope High School in 2007, Danielle thought Nixon was a remarkably loud and outspoken junior and Nixon was jealous of what a cool senior Danielle was. We both went on to attend the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where, by way of mutual friends and living across the street from one another, we ultimately became close friends. One day, Nixon showed up at Danielle's door unannounced and asked if she'd like to play cards. We did, in fact, play cards, but what Nixon claims was an innocent visit got Danielle really suspicious. After he left, she just came out and asked him if he liked her. Nixon admitted that he did and we officially started dating in June 2012. In 2015, we moved in together in Raleigh while Danielle completed her Master's degree at UNC. There, we enjoyed spending time with the "Cary Krewe," sampling various craft beers, and exploring Raleigh culture. After she graduated, Danielle was offered a position as a nurse practitioner at Seattle Children's Hospital and Nixon decided to bring his tech talents to Seattle with her, where we have enjoyed coffee, rain, and mountain adventures ever since. Nixon proposed to Danielle in her favorite spot on the Oregon Coast, the cobble beach by Yaquina Head Lighthouse, at sunset last November in a perfect moment of beauty, happiness, and love. After 11 really incredible years of loving each other and being best friends, we are thrilled to get married back home in Raleigh and celebrate with all the people we love the most.
