Wedding Party

Colin "The Sheriff" Dess

Best Man

Colin has been my friend since I met him freshman year of college. He was one of the original kittens when meeting Nina. We lived together 2 years in college and 4 years after college so technically according to California law, he is my first marriage. Nicknamed “The Sheriff”, he has always looked out for me and I love his “big brother” relationship with Nina for its teasing and care. Ask him about grilling, building, or his dog’s adventures with skunks.

Davis Kurzenski

Groomsman

Davis went from almost not letting me in the fraternity freshman year to being one of my best friends. He was also one of the original kittens when meeting Nina. Every year since college, Davis and I travel to Seattle for “Field of Dreams” weekend to watch our beloved baseball teams face off for a weekend. Ask him about the Angels, Rams, or his newborn son, Henry.

Adam "Nord" Pecoraro

Groomsman

Who’s Adam? Nord has felt like my second dad that I didn’t ask for but that I love anyways. He was one of the original kittens but was not present for the picture since he was playing beer pong. Since moving to Amsterdam in late 2019 we’ve been physically apart but objectively I don’t think there’s anyone I’ve spent more time on Zoom with. Ask him about his Amsterdam life, his 2 year old son, Patrick, or what Nord means.

Nick "Uke" Ukropina

Groomsman

Nick is the only reason I made it into the fraternity freshman year despite Davis` best efforts. Commonly known as Uke, we have been workout buddies aka Swolle brothers for the past decade and have partaken in about a dozen Spartan Races together. Ask him about his injuries during the Spartan Race and Bay to Breakers.

Sam "Wes" Zastrow

Groomsman

Sam is my cousin and the brother of Tyler and Caleb Zastrow. I’ve always felt like a fourth brother among them, but Sam being the oldest and only 3 weeks apart in age made us naturally best buds at an early age. Ask them about their trips to visit me when I lived in San Francisco.

Dr. Will Burke

Groomsman

Dr. Will Burke is my “little brother” in the fraternity but I’ve often looked at him for guidance and courage in times of adversity. Will is a “down” guy in that he’s always up for whatever event or adventure I have cooked up and spent more time on Colins and my couch than we ever did. Ask him about cats or how water flows.

Bijan Kooroshfar

Groomsman

Couldn’t have asked for a better brother in law than Bijan. Nina and I have been dating so long that Bijan’s and my first interactions together were discussing the finer points of Xbox when he was in high school. He’s been a great listener to all of my (and Nords) unsolicited life advice over the years. Ask him about watches and cutting the tops of beer cans.

Ross Yeager

Usher

Nina met Ross freshman year of college while playing piano in the dorms and has since become like an older brother to her. As such, you could also say Ross was Nina's first line of defense when she first met John as he was very protective of her and not immediately convinced by this cat at the bar. Fast forward today, now Ross and John are a dynamic duo and Nina often the third wheel. Luckily for Nina, Ross's amazing wife Taylor is there to keep her company whether it's traveling together, spending Thanksgiving in Monterey, or just sipping on some good wine with the Camille Crew.

Melanie Plastini

Maid of Honor

Melanie and I met one fateful day on a York School tennis practice van. We found out we lived minutes from each other and bonded over our moms' obsession with Princess Diana. Later on we became tennis doubles partners and continued our relationship on and off the court. We spent many evenings frequenting our usual date spot (CPK & a movie at Del Monte Shopping Center) and calling each other to debrief on the Hills. Melanie is now Dr. Melanie and I'm so happy our relationship has taken us both near and far but it always feels like we're back on that York School van.

Lynn Luu

Maid of Honor

Lynn has been my partner in crime since college at University of the Pacific. But really though, we used to joke about going to jail and every story always involved her. Even when she wasn't physically there. Fast forward to post-graduation and Lynn was there the night I met John. She was actually the first to tell me she thought I would marry him one day too. Lynn is now representing sunny southern California but by the transitive property John is still her tech support.

Rachel Bombeck

Matron of Honor

Rachel (or RACHEL as John calls her) graced us with her presence after moving to California from Hawaii (ask her about surfing!). Funny enough, she actually met John years before she met me but I'm lucky enough to get to call her my Matron of Honor. Rachel has been my sounding board, emotional support, and vibe queen through not only this wedding journey but throughout our friendship. You can catch Rachel reading her next book of the week and / or appreciating a good view with her hubby Bryce. SLS <3

Carlos Jimenez

Bridesman

Carlitos is an extension of the Kooroshfar family. As my parents say, he is their adopted son and if you want to say hi to him you can catch him and my mom dancing to La Vida es un Carnival on the dance floor. York School brought us together along with the rest of the "Peanut Gallery" and since then we've traveled to Germany, Japan, and Peru just to name a few. Carlos is always the honorary travel guru and you can usually catch us racing to find the cheesiest Dorito in the bag.

Sanam Fazeli

Bridesmaid

Sanam and I met in business school at University of the Pacific. From the classroom to parties to seeing each other through so many of life's moments, I know I can always count on my Persian kitten. Sanam is a true artist at heart and you can catch her coloring her own hair, doing my eyeshadow, or designing her next tattoo. Oh and when she isn't at a music show dancing to her favorite tunes, you can find her cuddling with her cat Smokey. I'm sure she will tell you about her <3

Felicia Garcia

Bridesmaid

Felicia is my cousin but we are "twin" to each other. We've gone through so many firsts together on this journey of life and I wouldn't want it any other way. Fun fact: We used to be pen pals with each other back when snail mail was our version of texting. Felicia is now living in Los Angeles helping underserved communities. She has a heart of gold and is beautiful inside and out. I'm so lucky to have known her my whole life.

Emily Seubert

Bridesmaid

Since the beginning, Emily (my future SISTA-in-law) has welcomed me with open arms. I'm so appreciative of that especially with how much I know she loves her brother. Emily and I love a good glass of wine and tulip appreciation - sometimes both at the same time. Emily is about to be a homeowner in Seattle with her husband, Alex aka Squatch, and when she's not scouring the sea for marine life you can probably find her with her other man, Kurtis. Don't worry he's her horse.
