Matron of Honor
Chelsea and I have shared a long-distance friendship from the very beginning, and somehow that distance only made our bond stronger. We’ve walked through so many seasons of life together, always grounded in the same values, creativity, and love for adventure. She is one of the most honest, steady, and reliable people in my life …someone I can be completely authentic and vulnerable with. Our time together is always relaxed, inspiring, and full of laughter. Chelsea lives in Tucson with her husband Mike and brings beauty into everything she touches, whether it’s her art, her garden, or the way she shows up for the people she loves. She truly is a kindred spirit.

Charly is Brent’s incredible daughter and one of the brightest lights in our lives. She is thoughtful, intelligent, and deeply kind. She’s currently studying Psychology in Boone and has the biggest heart …especially when it comes to animals. She loves music, traveling, and chasing meaningful experiences. Watching our relationship grow has been one of the greatest blessings of this journey. I feel so lucky to be her bonus mom, and I am endlessly proud of the woman she is becoming.

George is Nina’s son and Brent’s soon-to-be stepson, and watching their bond form has been one of the greatest gifts of this journey. They connected quickly over shared interests in discipline, martial arts, and mutual respect. Their relationship feels natural, steady, and deeply rooted. George will be graduating from Bloomsburg University and plans to pursue a career in law enforcement as he begins this next chapter in the mountains with Nina and Brent. He is also joining the military; a goal he has talked about since he was little and seeing him follow through has been incredibly inspiring. A skilled kickboxer who has competed on pay-per-view, George is passionate about martial arts and dreams of training Muay Thai in Thailand. There may or may not be family discussions about a graduation trip already happening. His relationship with Charly has been equally heartwarming. They genuinely enjoy one another, and seeing them laugh together without any prompting reminds us how lucky we are to be blending these families.

Leah and I met in Philly and instantly connected. From early gym sessions to long life talks, our friendship has always been rooted in honesty and real support. Even when life took us in different directions, we stayed close and when we both ended up in Florida, it felt like no time had passed. Leah is one of the most independent and driven women I know. Watching her build her business and work tirelessly toward her goals has inspired me deeply. She doesn’t just dream..she executes. She’s the kind of friend who motivates you simply by how she lives her life. Our friendship isn’t surface-level. We ask the hard questions, hold each other accountable, and grow together. She has been a steady, influential presence in my life in ways I can’t fully put into words. Leah lives in Davie with her partner Dwayne and their beautiful daughter, Legacy. The weekly photos and updates she sends are some of my favorite moments, watching Legacy grow from afar is such a gift. I’m endlessly grateful for her loyalty, strength, and heart.

Melissa has been my best friend since 7th grade photography class and she confidently declared it on day one. She was right. From before-school outfit planning to living room concerts where we proudly claimed our Spice Girls identities, we grew up side by side. Melissa is, without exaggeration, one of the funniest humans you will ever meet. She delivers the most wildly unexpected lines with such effortless timing that you’ll find yourself laughing long after the moment has passed. Quiet at first glance, but once she starts talking, you won’t want to leave her side. Her wit is sharp, her humor is fearless, and she has an unmatched ability to make any situation lighter. Beyond the laughter, Melissa is deeply family-oriented and fiercely loyal. She has walked through difficult seasons with grace, always putting the people she loves first. Her heart for others and her instinct to care for those around her is one of the many reasons our friendship works so well. We show up for each other fully and equally. It has always been reciprocal, steady, and rooted in genuine love and respect. Through every move, every chapter, and every change, we never lost our rhythm. And we both know that decades from now, we’ll still be laughing just as hard. Melissa resides in Bailey with her partner Derrick.

Ven is the baby brother… even if he is the tallest. Quiet at first, kind-hearted always, and occasionally delivering a perfectly timed joke that catches everyone off guard, Ven has a way of growing on you quickly. He recently completed his service in the Air Force and is stepping into a new chapter of life that we couldn’t be more proud of. He lives in Fort Washington and keeps a low profile, often enjoying anime and his own creative interests. He’s not much of a drinker, but he’s disciplined, sharp, and incredibly steady. He’s visited Nina and Brent in the mountains several times, and we’re still campaigning for a permanent move. Once Ven warms up, you’ll see why he’s impossible not to love. And yes, we all joke that he might be Mom’s favorite.

Kat has the kind of heart you don’t come across often. From the beginning, I saw her strength, her softness, and her incredible resilience. She feels like the little sister I never had; someone I care for deeply and cheer on fiercely. Despite the age gap between us, our bond is constant and strong. Not a day goes by without multiple FaceTime calls, life updates, laughter, and the kind of sister talks that only happen when there’s real trust and love. Our relationship has always been about more than just the two of us. Some of our sweetest memories are the Florida sister dates with her daughter, Kyndle … my “little baby.” From art installations and museums to beach afternoons and park days, we’ve built a rhythm of doing life together as a little unit. Those simple, intentional days mean everything. Kat is independent, compassionate, and always willing to give people the benefit of the doubt. She has walked through life with grace and grit, never losing her tenderness along the way. Watching her grow into the woman and mother she is today has been such a gift. She is also our resident green thumb. If you point at a plant, she can probably name it and if it needs saving, she’ll revive it. She propagates, nurtures, and patiently watches things bloom, pouring love into everything she grows. It’s beautiful to witness, and it mirrors exactly how she shows up for the people she loves. Kat lives in Fort Pierce with Kyndle, and I am endlessly proud to call her family.
Groomsman
Robert is Nina’s middle brother, which means he grew up perfectly positioned to be both the responsible one and the instigator. Anyone who knows him knows he’s reliable, social, and armed with a dry sense of humor that lands when you least expect it. He served in the military and carries that quiet confidence into everything he does …unless we’re talking about Dungeons & Dragons, then he lights up immediately. Robert lives in Fort Washington and is equal parts connoisseur and craftsman. From leatherwork to hosting backyard cookouts on the Blackstone, he does everything with intention. If you need cigar advice, brewery recommendations, or the best Korean barbecue in town, he’s your guy. Brent and Robert bonded quickly over cigars, good food, and good conversation. He’s very much like Nina in his love of hosting and exploring …just with a slightly more sarcastic edge.
Mother of the Bride
Noy is Nina’s greatest gift and the heart of her story. Originally from Thailand, she moved to the United States in her early twenties with courage, resilience, and determination. She is kind, selfless, and deeply devoted to her faith, often volunteering at her local Buddhist temple and dedicating time to meditation and service. Don’t let her gentle nature fool you … she is feisty, strong, and skilled in Muay Thai. She is known for her cooking, her hosting, and the way she makes everyone feel cared for the moment they step into her presence. Nina treasures her relationship with her mother more than anything. From road trips to new beginnings in new cities, Noy has always shown up. Her strength, warmth, and unwavering love have shaped Nina in more ways than words can express.
Father of the Bride
Jeff is Nina’s bonus dad, but the word “bonus” hardly covers it. From the very beginning, he has shown up with calm strength, kindness, and quiet wisdom. He never made Nina feel like anything less than fully his, teaching her how to fish, how to shoot, and how to handle life’s unexpected hiccups. If something breaks, Jeff is the first call. He is our real-life MacGyver. A Duke PhD in chemistry who would never lead with that fact, Jeff is brilliant without being pretentious, endlessly curious, and genuinely interested in everyone he meets. He loves old Western movies, building things from scraps into something remarkable, and sharing long conversations. Watching his relationship with Noy has shown Nina what steady, loyal love truly looks like. Together, they are building their homestead in Tabor City, North Carolina, a place filled with intention, humor, and heart.
