First Chair Coffee Shop

you know Nina, you know coffee is non-negotiable. Brent and I love finding local coffee spots wherever we travel, and this one is such a gem. First Chair is a cozy, community coffee shop with delicious pastries, quick breakfast bites, and one of the best matchas I’ve had on the mountain. There’s a beautiful open deck to sit outside, a huge parking lot (always a win in mountain towns), and even fresh flowers you can grab on your way out. It’s the perfect quick stop before hitting the road or starting your day.

If you’re staying on the mountain and need a quick breakfast, coffee, or grab-and-go lunch before heading out to explore, this is our go-to spot. During one of our family trips to Beech Mountain, Brent, George, Charly, and I stopped here before a morning hike and loved it. Friendly staff, cozy mountain charm, and sweet views while you sip your coffee. It’s perfect for fueling up before hitting the trails or just enjoying a relaxed mountain morning… they also have some mountain gear and fun things upstairs!

Famous Brick Oven Pizzeria

Brent and I had hands-down one of the most delicious pizzas here during a trip to Beech Mountain. It’s a relaxed, casual spot where you can sit down, enjoy a hot brick-oven pizza, and grab a drink after a day on the mountain. The crust has that perfect wood-fired crisp, and it’s quick, easy, and always satisfying. Great for a laid-back lunch or dinner with friends and family.
