Flight
These are the two primary airport options. Both are about equidistant to downtown San Francisco and both are served by BART so you will have no issues getting to your hotel from either airport (although you will need to transfer trains once if you're going to San Francisco from Oakland airport). Both are great airports, Oakland is a fair bit smaller and faster getting through security. Just go with whichever flight is cheapest!
House Or Rental
This is our recommendation for guests on a budget. There are tons and tons of inexpensive and/or fun and interesting Airbnb rentals in the Bay Area suitable for a wide range in budgets.
Hotel
Great hotel just steps away from 12th St Oakland BART station. 3 miles from our apartment but a straight bus ride to our apartment with no walk needed to/from stops.
Hotel
Hotel just steps away from our reception dinner venue. About half a mile from nearest BART station but still walkable. Has a parking garage which may be useful if you plan on renting a car during your stay.
