Flight
Ireland has a few airport options. We recommend that our US based guests travel through the Dublin airport. It's a short drive or train ride to County Sligo. Additionally, If you're returning to the US from Dublin Airport, you are able to go through Customs 'Pre-clearance' allowing for a speedy return once in the US.
Flight
This is the closest airport option to Markree Castle. It does not have any direct flights from the US, but if you're flying from Europe, it may be preferred.
Rental Car
You can rent a car through Avis, Enterprise, Hertz, Budget, etc. and collect at the Dublin Airport or local locations in the city. Be aware you will need to drive on the left side of the road in Ireland, so we recommend alternative options, such as train or bus, to Sligo if you are not comfortable. The route from Dublin Airport to Markree/Sligo is through a major interstate, and is traditionally sufficient for most drivers to acclimate.
Train
The train can be an option for those that don't want to rent a car or take the shuttle. It's a scenic route from Dublin to Sligo. A taxi can be arranged from Sligo Train station to Markree Castle in advance.

There is a bus from Dublin to Sligo for anyone that doesn't want to rent a car or take the train. Route 23 leaves from the airport and goes to Sligo City Center.

We highly recommend this option for our guests. It is directly across Markree Castle and easily walk-able from the venue.
