First off, Guadalajara is the capital and the largest city of the Mexican state of Jalisco, Mexico. So for those wanting to understand geography, you will be in the country of Mexico, the state of Jalisco in the city of Guadalajara. Guadalajara is considered the home of mariachi music :D Tequila is also associated with Guadalajara as Tequila, Jalisco is a nearby city where tequila is known to have been created! A delicious plate that Guadalajara is known for is their tortas ahogadas also known as a drowned torta/sandwich.

What is the best way to transfer money?

Answer

It is recommended to transfer money ahead of time with your bank (approximately 1 week before you leave) as they often are able to offer the best transfer rate. We recommend carrying Mexican cash "pesos" as many locations only accept pesos.

Will I get phone service in Mexico?

Answer

Depends! Ensure ahead of time with your service provider that you can use unlimited roaming when traveling. I (Nicole) have T-mobile and have never had an issue in MX while my poor Luis has always had issues using his phone for internet (he also had T-mobile).
