Question

Calgary Water Main Break

Answer

We hope you are as excited as we are about the upcoming wedding! We wanted to inform you about a recent situation in Calgary that may affect our plans and your stay. The city is currently experiencing a major water main break and has declared a state of emergency. As a result, there are some necessary measures to reduce water usage throughout the city. Here are a few important points to keep in mind during your visit: Water conservation: Please be mindful of your water use. Limit showers to five minutes, avoid baths, and turn off the tap while brushing your teeth. Drinking Water: We recommend using bottled water for drinking. The city is ensuring that potable water remains safe, but conserving where we can will help the overall situation. Restaurants and Services: Some restaurants and services might be operating with limited water usage. Please be patient and understanding with local businesses. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding. We look forward to celebrating with you!

Question

How will the water main break affect the wedding?

Answer

Aside from everyone needing to shower less, we do not anticipate the water main break affecting the wedding. All of our florals are Sola Wood, a reusable and sustainable alternative to both real flowers and artificial plastic flowers. They do not require water. We may request our caterer to switch from mosaic plates and real cutlery to disposable plates and cutlery to reduce the number of dishes that need to be washed. We continue to look forward to our special days while doing our part to reduce the strain on critical infrastructure.

Question

Why are there two dates listed?

Answer

We're thrilled to celebrate our love over two days! On the first day (Saturday, July 6th), there will be multiple Cambodian ceremonies followed by a Canadian BBQ twist. (Learn more on the Ceremonies tab!) On the second day (Sunday, July 7th), there will be a traditional wedding set against the backdrop of the zoo.

Answer

Saturday: I Do BBQ Khmer Attire: If you have access to traditional Khmer clothing, such as a Sampot (a traditional wrap skirt for women) or a Sampot Chang Kben (a unisex traditional wrapped pant), wearing it can be a beautiful way to celebrate the culture. Question

Do you have a registry?

Answer

Justin and Nicole have lived together for five years and have recently downsized their apartment for their move to the USA. They have accumulated all the things they might need. In lieu of a gift, they would appreciate thoughtful cards, which they will receive formally during the July 6th ceremonies. This is traditionally accompanied by a red envelope containing lucky money. (Note: it does not actually have to be a separate red envelope) While not required, any such contributions will be lovingly put towards their honeymoon fund.
