Nicky was born and raised in Chicago. She is very proud of her Colombian heritage. Nicky is a kindergarten teacher at Brentano Math and Science Academy. She loves her students, purple, koalas, food, and her family and friends. She looks forward to spending her life with David and having many adventures together.
David Rodriguez
Groom
David was born in Cali, Colombia. At the age of 8, he came to live in Chicago with family. David works for U.S. Cellular Corporate as a Replenishment Planner for the entire United States. David loves soccer, shoes, food, connecting with people and his family and friends. He has always known that Nicole was the one and is excited to tackle all the adventures life throws their way.
Janet Sandoval
Mother of the Bride
Nicky considers herself lucky to be able to call Janet her mother and best friend. She is the first person Nicky turns to with good or bad news. Janet has always motivated Nicky to do her best in anything that she does and supports her unconditionally. Janet's love of education is the reason Nicky found her passion for teaching. Whether it’s helping set up Nicky’s classroom, making sure she eats, or sending her the latest news to keep her informed, Janet is always there for her daughter. Janet's intelligence, compassion, dedication to her family, and amazing generosity have helped shape Nicky into the person she is today. Nicky would be lost without her. Janet is overjoyed that David and Nicky are getting married even though she already considers him her son.
Consuelo Sanchez
Mother of the Groom
Consuelo is David’s mom. She always gives him advice and brings positivity even through difficult times. David is Consuelo's eldest son and is proud of everything he has accomplished to this date including being the first of his immediate family to graduate from college. One of their most joyous memories was when Consuelo introduced David to his family back home in Cali, Colombia, where he was born.
Ernesto Sandoval
Father of the Bride
Ernesto is Nicky’s Papi and the best salsa dancer you will ever meet. He is hardworking, a great chef, and an incredible problem solver. It is a rarity to find something he cannot fix. He loves soccer, music, and most of all his family. In addition to being an incredible father, he is a dedicated grandfather to his grandson and granddaughter. He has always been there for his family, offering advice from his life experiences. He is looking forward to the wedding in Colombia and spending time with friends and family.
Rubiel Rodriguez
Father of the Groom
Rubiel is David's father. Rubiel is a talented musician. David and Rubiel bond over their love of soccer. Rubiel rarely misses David's soccer games and is always pushing David to be a better soccer player by giving him advice during and after every soccer match. Rubiel loves to see his son enjoy what he loves to do the most, playing on a field. Rubiel also pushes David to be a better person and takes pride in his family.
Blair Brodie
Maid of Honor
Future wife of Jason Momoa. JFK expert. Cricut master. Bohemian. The Coolest person ever. Brodie and Nicky met at Brentano and have been teaching Kindergarten together for about 4 years. Teaching and their love for children has brought them closer together. Brodie is always positive and has a "can do" attitude, which is so essential to their line of work, and to their friendship. She is loyal, trustworthy, fun, generous and an amazing teacher in addition to a great friend. David and Nicky love Brodie for her huge heart, amazing magic skills and ability to find the funny in every situation! Nicky and David couldn't imagine celebrating their love without her and are sure she will be the life of the party.
Kenny Rodriguez
Best Man
Kenny is David’s little brother. Kenny and David are 4 years apart and also bond over soccer. Kenny is a music producer, image creator and a recently certified lifeguard. One of David's fondest memories is teaching Kenny how to play soccer in the backyard of their childhood home. Kenny loves to play with his brother out on the field and share those winning experiences together. He loves to spend time with his family and explore the Chicago food scene. David is incredibly excited to have him by his side on the happiest day of his life to date.
Lesley Craig
Matron of Honor
Lesley is Nicky’s sister-in-law and has known her since she was about 12 years old, when Lesley was in college and began dating Tony (Nicky’s brother). Lesley was witness to Nicky’s awkward teenage years and her transition from a girl to a young woman. Lesley also saw Nicky and David’s relationship from the very beginning. Nicky admires Lesley for being an exceptional mother to her niece and nephew. Nicky was Lesley's Maid of Honor when she wed, and is excited to have Lesley as her Matron of Honor. Nicky and David love Lesley very much and are excited to share this experience with her.
Tony Sandoval
Groomsman
Tony is Nicky’s brother. Tony is a master soccer player, a dope rapper, and a great father. Nicky attributes her fun childhood to Tony. The two played with action figures, practiced soccer moves, ran all around the house during tickle monster time, and shared a hatred of pickles. Tony gave Nicky the title in her life that she is most proud of, Tia. David and Tony both have a love of soccer, and for Nicky. David is honored to be able to have Tony as a groomsman.
Paola Betancourt
Bridesmaid
Sister from another Mister! Blood could not make them any closer. Nicky and Pao grew up together and were part of a Colombian Folkloric dance company. Pao is a go getter, who is never afraid of a challenge and motivates others to do the same. She is real, kind-hearted, and a great momma to her baby girl- Penny. Some of Nicky's fondest memories are when traveling with Pao, whether it be to New Orleans, or to the Betancourt family finca in LaBelle, Florida. This will be their first trip to Colombia together, and Nicky is excited for Pao to show her all of Medellin's treasures, as it is where Pao's family is originally from. Guests will be able to catch the two living it up on the dance floor!
Anibal Morris
Groomsman/Bridesman
"Mi niñooooo!" Anibal met David and Nicky through mutual friends. His presence in both of their lives could not be replaced by anyone. Anibal has the biggest heart and would go to the ends of the Earth for either of them as they would for him. He helped paint Nicky’s classroom, is present at all major life events, and named Nicky Godmother to his baby girl Lisa. He has became a brother to them both. Nicky and David love him very much. One of the couple's favorite moments is when they went skiing together and shared an amazing experience together for David’s 30th birthday. David looks forward to being the godfather of Anibal's next child. "No Jodaaaa!"
Bryan Arguelles

"What up cuz?" David and Bryan are cousins, only a year apart. The two grew up in Colombia and moved to the United States at a very young age. They have always been inseparable and are more like brothers. Bryan is a branch manager at TCF Bank and has been working there for almost 12 years. Bryan and David bond over sneakers, fashion and their love for their family. One of David's memories with his cousin is when they both finished the spartan race back in 2015 and ate about 3 pounds of shrimp after the race was over. Bryan is unable to attend the wedding, but will be with David is spirit.
Stephanie Arce
Bridesmaid
Steph and Nicky met when Steph was student teaching in Ms. Hendler's first grade class at Brentano. Stephanie went on to obtain a position as first grade teacher and they fell in love soon after. As another young Latina at Brentano, Nicky connected with her on many different levels and was fortunate enough to teach her youngest daughter Makayla, whom she adores. After several unsuccessful attempts to adopt Makayla, Nicky settled with being a close friend. Nicky often refers to Stephanie as superwoman due to her ability to juggle an all consuming and successful career, being a wife, mother, sister, daughter, and friend all the while maintaining her fabulousness.
Brittany Williams

Plant lady. Bug lady. A.K.A. Ms. Frizzle. Can fix anything. Red Haired Queen. Nicky and Brittany first met working at Brentano. She teaches 3rd grade and Nicky kindergarten. Brittany is Nicky’s friend and was her first roommate when they lived on Troy, where they became closer. Brittany saved Nicky from many spiders and introduced her to vegetarianism...NOT. All jokes aside, the two have each other's best interest at heart and Nicky feels very lucky to have a friend like her in her life. You can be sure to find them chatting it up late at night in room 110. Original late crew.
Kevin Reveles

David met Kevin through Brittany Williams, Nicky’s friend and coworker. The two bonded over soccer, and the love they have for their girlfriends. Kevin's recommendation to apply for a position in his company landed David his current position that he loves. As an adult, it can be difficult to cultivate new friendships, but David’s friendship with Kevin has proved to flourish easily. David is very appreciative of Kevin's friendship and looks forward to growing closer and making memories.
Jennifer Betancourt
Officiant
Jennifer may not be a blood relative, but she is family. Jennifer has known Nicky since she was born, and their mothers have been friends for over 40 years. The two share a love for music, their families, and are of like mind. Although Jennifer lives over 1,300 miles away, the love they have for each other has never wavered. Nicky and David chose Jennifer to help officiate because she has known them as a couple from the very beginning and has always been loving and supportive to them both (especially in persuading David to pursue a career as a reggaetonero).
