Coyoacán (specifically Villa Coyoacán, the historic core) is one of Mexico City’s most beloved neighborhoods, with a charming, almost small-town feel thanks to its cobblestone streets, colonial architecture, leafy plazas, cafés, markets and bohemian vibe. This is great for a half or full day trip- best visited during the daytime when plazas and markets are lively. Wander the central plazas (Plaza Hidalgo & Jardín Centenario), perfect for people-watching or grabbing gelato. Food tip for our guests: while street food is a big part of local culture, we recommend enjoying meals at restaurants and cafés during your stay. Visit several museums and historic homes, including the famous Frida Kahlo Museum (Casa Azul) — Frida’s former home now filled with her art and personal items. Explore the Coyoacán market for crafts, and souvenirs. Coyoacán is south of Polanco: the distance is roughly 5–6 miles or roughly a 20-30 minute uber ride.
