SANGEET PARTY (SKY TERRACE VENUE)

6:00 pm - 11:00 pm

Cocktail Attire. The Sangeet is typically the most colorful event so bring out the bright colors and make sure it's something you can dance in. Indian attire is not required but may be fun for those wanting to partake. If not wearing Indian attire, colorful cocktail attire is requested but PLEASE DO NOT WEAR BLACK.

The word "sangeet" is Sanskrit for "sung together". The Sangeet is an opportunity for family and friends of the bride and groom to meet each other and celebrate before the wedding. We will have a henna artist available for two hours during the event. Look forward to seeing the bridal party and families perform fun dances. What happens: The event includes: Dancing: Close friends and family perform choreographed dance routines. Singing: Female family members sing traditional songs to the couple. The songs may include jokes about the bride leaving her parents' home, in-laws, and how to have a successful marriage. Open dance floor: There's an open dance floor to celebrate the festivities that will follow. TBD on other games and activities. Dinner Menu will be Buffet Style with 5 hours Open Bar.

HINDU WEDDING CEREMONY (BEACH VENUE)

9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Traditional Indian or Beach Chic Attire. It will be hot so plan for lightweight and breathable fabrics. We recommend gentlemen opt for a lightweight suit paired with a casual button-down shirt or even a relaxed blazer. Ladies can consider cocktail or flowy maxi dresses. The wedding is planned on the beach so leave those heels at home and opt for comfortable sandals. ***PLEASE DO NOT WEAR BLACK***

The "baraat" (wedding procession) will start at 9AM by the Italian restaurant. The baraat is a parade-like event where the groom leads his friends and family to the wedding venue. The procession is filled with music (by our DJ) and is a joyous event which culminates in meeting the brides family, symbolizing the joining of the two families. After the procession, guests will enter and find their seats on the beach for the wedding. The wedding ceremony includes many short steps which all hold different significance. The bride enters about a quarter of the way through so the wedding actually starts without her! Don't worry, we will provide explanations of the steps on the wedding program. We expect the wedding to last less than 2 hours. Guests should be seated under a canopy to provide shade but the wedding is outside on the beach. It's ok to get up and move around during the ceremony if needed/wanted.

Reception (Grand Cenote Venue)

This event is formal and black tie optional. People come dressed to the nines for Indian wedding receptions but above all this is a party so make sure you are comfortable enough to dance! We can't wait to see you on the dance floor. ***BLACK IS PERMISSIBLE***

The reception will be inside a ballroom and is similar to an American wedding reception. There are appetizers and hors d'oeuvres at the start followed by a buffet Indian dinner with vegetarian and non-vegetarian options.
