Off The Rails country music festival was well underway May 7th of 2017. Cortney hadn't planned on attending, whereas Nick had been 2 full days into the festivities. A random invite to the Old Dominion, Dierks Bentley and Jason Aldean concert was presented to Cortney and her sister Rachel that they couldn't pass up. Cortney was determined to watch this concert on the floor and paid security with chicken tenders to allow them to have the better view. Meanwhile, Nick paid much more for floor tickets than just chicken tenders. While watching the concert, indulging in a few cold brews, and enjoying everyone's company, a very inebriated young gentleman (Matt Butler) approached the group, claiming to know them. The reason Matt stumbled over to the group was because Nick had recognized a person in their party. They were being entertained by his slurred conversation, when all of a sudden Cortney got a tap on the shoulder. She turned around and a random older man said "this man back here, says he knows you." Cortney looked to where the man had pointed and saw an attractive guy. Nick had previously mentioned to the gentleman that he knew the person who Matt decided to go talk to. The older gentleman mistakingly thought Nick pointed out the very beautiful girl standing in front of him. This mistake was almost not capitalized on by Nick, as he sat there shaking his head and apologizing to Cortney for the miscommunication. She thought clearly he doesn't want to speak to me, but what the heck, let's talk. They started talking and have never stopped. Nick pulled a trick out of his old man's playbook and demanded her number and a first date. Two long days later, Nick took Cortney to Farina's Winery in Grapevine, TX where 10 months and 2 days later, he would propose. Since that day, Cortney and Nick have only grown more and more in love with one another. They can't wait to share their wedding day with the special people that have helped them get to where they are today.
