They say 18% of Students meet the one they’ll marry while on Lawrence University’s tiny campus. Nicky and Charlotte had little chance to met though, traveling in different social circles while she went to class in the conservatory and he stuck to the football field. One night Charlotte was out with some girlfriends when she couldn’t help but notice someone staring at her from across the room. It wasn’t until she was leaving that they finally ran into each other and introduced themselves. While it took a few weeks and many facebook messages for a first date to take place, they’re both very thankful for a Lawrence party!
In the dog days of a pandemic summer, Nicky came to Traverse City to spend some time with Charlotte and the Nobles. The two planned a sunset picnic to end their time up north on Tuesday, August 11th. Unbeknownst to Charlotte, Nicky had a bit more planned for the evening. With a fair amount of family and a couple friends secretly following, the love birds—and Ragnar—drove to Empire Beach on Lake Michigan. As the sun started to set, Nicky got a little too excited (and nervous) to wait any longer, and more or less explained to Charlotte what was happening. A few minutes later, when everyone was ready to celebrate, he got down on one knee and she said yes!
