Upscale dining and drinks. We love this local spot for a negroni and clams. Great vibes for a nice dinner.
"Lunazul Surf School & Shop is a family business located on the main beach in Sayulita, Mexico. We give surf lessons, organize surf trips to La Lancha and other Punta de Mita surf spots, and have a broad selection of surfboards, paddleboards and boogie boards for rent." Sayulita is known for being a surfer town, give this place a try!
This is our favorite tour company in Puerto Vallarta. Most of the tour guides speak English, highly recommended. The tour is well-organized and a great use of the morning.
The boardwalk stretches for miles with plenty of restaurants and beach clubs. At night there are several vendors selling Tacos Al Pastor with handmade tortillas. You will also find desserts like nutella filled crêpes and churros. This boardwalk is always bustling, throughout the day you may find locals and tourists rollerblading or biking, this is a very safe area of town and attracts a lot of tourists. This area of the town is referred to as El Centro, there is a beautiful cathedral that is great for pictures.
Lots of street facing bars all within walking distance of one another. Plenty of restaurants for meals or appetizers before going out. Rooftop bars with a great view of the old city. Some bars are more laid back and drink a piña colada vibe, while others will give you spring breaker vibes. Options for all! Streets are well lit, lots of tourists and locals around at all times. Very safe!
Beware: For the more experienced traveler - Authentic Experience! A short Uber ride from Puerto Vallarta, you’ll go through gravel roads and see fences with warning signs not to feed the crocodiles. You’re not being kidnapped, you’ll arrive at a complex of beach tents serving fresh ceviche, aguachile, pescado zarandeado (grilled red snapper), lobster, crab, marlin, and food you wouldn’t find in Nebraska. Buckets of cold Mexican beer for $10. Live mariachi music on the Jalisco beach. Staff at the tents are very kind, in the past they’ve arranged our ride back to the hotel.
About 15 minutes from the boardwalk is the area of Marina Vallarta, this area is very quiet. You’re within distance of the movie theater and local Casino. There are several condominiums in this area, lots of Americans and Canadians live here. See “Accomodations” for hotel recommendations in this area. In the morning there is a Marina filled with Yachts, there are several brunch options around the dock. Massages are available in the Marina, wonderful experience and it was around $20 for 60 minutes!
Far travel distance from Puerto Vallarta, but it is a great experience. We scheduled a tour from our Guadalajara Hilton Double Tree hotel for $25 per person. This included visiting 3 distilleries, Tequila Jalisco excursion, Cantaritos El Guero visit, and 8 bottles of tequila for the tour group.
Long line but worth the wait, you can order drinks while in line! The Sangria is delicious. Venture out and try the ‘Vampiro’ (a Tostada-Quesadilla-taco hybrid) or a mexican loaded baked potato (Papa Loca).
On the right side, when you cross the bridge from the airport over to the pickup spot for Uber. Try a seafood burrito with a Modelo!
A true Mexican culinary experience, nothing fancy here. You’ll be served your street tacos, on the actual street! Hours vary, you’ll more likely find them to be open at night. https://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_Review-g150793-d2170600-Reviews-El_Carboncito_and_Street_Food-Puerto_Vallarta.html
