There are tons of great restaurants and bars and things to do in downtown Bloomington. We recommend checking out Kirkwood Ave to get a taste of the IU nightlife. Nick's English Hut is a classic establishment with games such as Sink the Biz. Farm is an excellent local restaurant with local ingredients and one of our first date spots.
You may not think of Indiana as being a hot spot for international cuisine, but Fourth Street in Bloomington boasts the highest number of international restaurants per capita in the United States. From Thai, Tibetan, Indian, Korean, Turkish, authentic Chinese, Indonesian, Cajun, Greek, you are sure to find something you'll enjoy.
We may be biased, but IU Bloomington has one of the prettiest campuses in all the country. The limestone buildings and ample greenery provide beautiful scenery in every season. Dip your feet into Showalter Fountain or check out the Art Museum designed by the world-renowned I.M. Pei (also designed the Louvre pyramids).
Take a drive into Brown County, a top destination for changing colors during the fall, and you'll run into the small town of Nashville filled with local artists and the cutest little shops. While September may be a bit too early for peak leaf season, Nashville is still a fun and unique getaway.
If we could only recommend one restaurant to try in town, it would be this one. It is our go-to for special occasions, especially with a menu that changes with every season. The dishes are truly unique and high end. We have loved every thing that we have tried here.
