Good things are worth the wait...

Dear family and friends, Due to unforeseen circumstances, we made the difficult decision to postpone our wedding. We hope you can join us on our new date, September 5th, 2021. You can continue to RSVP on our website and a new room block has been set up for the new date. We apologize for the inconvenience. Wishing you all health and safety and we cannot wait to celebrate with you soon! Love, Meghan and Richard

How we met

Still buzzing from our first date

~ 01-23-2018 ~ Richard: After texting for many weeks, it seemed like it wasn't going anywhere, she always had an excuse not to meet... finally one last ditch attempt, I called her - of course, no answer - so I left a message hoping the accent might win her over. Success! I received a text back - would I like to go for a drink that week...! We met at Fisherman's on San Clemente Pier and hours of conversation passed by, on my drive home I couldn't stop smiling and I think a part of me knew at that point she was the one... Meghan: After many texts back and forth I was very hesitant about meeting up, but then I heard a voicemail from a man asking for a date in his lovely English accent and I was intrigued and knew I had to find out more about him. I agreed to grab drinks in San Clemente at Fisherman's Restaurant (one of my family's all time favorites). Not sure what would come of it, I was pleasantly surprised. The conversation flowed all night, we shared a bottle of Prosecco, and I caught myself smiling at him throughout the whole date. Date one in San Clemente (the half way point between our homes in Orange County and San Diego) turned into date 2, 4, and 6 in San Clemente and I knew this was something special and he was very different from the rest...

The Proposal

Back to where it all began

~02-22-2019~ Richard: For me it all started a few weeks before the proposal. I had many discussions with my parents and my sister and told them I was planning on asking Meghan to marry me - safe to say they were all onboard and so now I had to ask her parents..... We all went to Big Bear for Meghan's dad’s 60th birthday weekend at the end of January and luckily there was a moment where I managed to get MB and Phil on their own and in a bar.... after a large margarita I finally asked for their daughter's hand in marriage, to which they were very obliging and asked if I had a ring yet. I did not at this point - needed a yes from both sets of parents first.. I went out by myself to find the perfect ring and once I got it the secret was burning a hole in my drawer!! The big day had finally arrived and I was both nervous and excited! I was running around all day making sure everything was ready; I couldn’t wait for her to arrive to ask her to spend the rest of our lives together! Meghan: I had just finished my Residency Program for Physical Therapy and we wanted to celebrate. Richard had planned a nice dinner to celebrate in San Clemente at Fishermans. He met me with flowers in hand and there was a bottle of Prosseco on the table waiting for us. I still did not think much of it because flowers, wine, and romantic gestures are some of the things Richard does constantly for me (I know I know, I am one lucky gal). We began chatting and before I knew it he was down on one knee. Richard had asked his friends to hide at different tables with cameras to capture the whole thing, I think I may have blacked out a little from pure shock and excitement! He told me we should go back to my house to show my parents the ring. I agreed and couldn't wait to tell my parents but the surprise was not over yet. I walked into my house and there were over 50 friends and family gathered to celebrate. It was an absolutely perfect night and the high has still not gone away!
