The Wedding Website of Negin Mashaiee and Kerem Taskin
Travel to Bodrum The easiest way to get to Bodrum is to fly to Milas–Bodrum Airport (BJV), the main airport serving the region. It’s 35 - 40 minutes to central Bodrum and 50–60 minutes to many of the surrounding towns on the Bodrum peninsula. From the BJV airport, you can get to Bodrum by: Taxi or Private Car: Taxis are readily available at the airport, and typically cost around $40 - $50 USD to downtown Bodrum. Private cars can be booked in advance through most hotels but will be more expensive (~$60+). Keep an eye out for the meter in taxis – usually the taxi drivers in Bodrum are trustworthy, but it’s always a good idea to make sure that the taxi meter is turned on. Uber: Taxis are metered in Bodrum, however you can also use the Uber app to book a taxi and ensure the rate. Shuttle: The Havaş airport shuttles run frequently and are an affordable option (around 150 – 200 TL). They operate from BJV to Bodrum’s main bus station (Otogar) in the city center.

Areas to Stay

Bodrum is a popular summer Mediterranean destination for both Turks and foreigners. When we say “Bodrum”, you may assume that we are referring to downtown Bodrum or the city of Bodrum. However, Bodrum is much more than the downtown area, and typically embodies the entire peninsula with several coves and towns that each have their own culture and appeal. Downtown Bodrum is the central hub, with an expansive shopping area, hotels, restaurants, bars, and the marina, from where you can book daily boat trips or take the ferryboat (feribot) to Datça. While downtown Bodrum is worth visiting, we would recommend staying in one of the other towns on the peninsula: • ORTAKENT BEACH – A quick hop over to the next cove from Bitez is Ortakent Beach or Ortakent Plajı. This is our favorite town in Bodrum, and where we prefer to stay when we visit. Compared to Bitez, Ortakent is more local with a calmer, laid-back vibe. This is the spot for you if you want gorgeous beaches with calm, crystal clear waters, and quieter evenings with excellent restaurants by the water. • BITEZ – Two coves over to the West from downtown Bodrum, Bitez is a lively town with a long stretch of sandy beach that is home to restaurants by night and beach beds by day. Bitez has a younger, upbeat vibe – especially at night – and caters more to foreign visitors. So if you are looking for a relaxing day on the beach but music, activity and crowds by night, Bitez is the right place for you! We have stayed in both Bitez and Ortakent, and love both! Both towns have a main walkway right by the sea, lined with restaurants and hotels that offer quick access to the beach. They also accommodations that are more isolated, either a few blocks inland from the walkway or on a quieter stretch of the beach. It’s also a quick cab ride to the wedding venue (see details on "Schedule" page) and downtown Bodrum from both of these towns.
