Mount Storm King is a 5.3 mile out and back trail with stunning views of Lake Crescent and surrounds, located within striking distance of the venue. We love this hike (see photo above!), but would only recommend it for advanced hikers. The elevation gain is a bit over 2,000 feet and use of ropes is required up top.
This is a 0.7 loop trail right onsite at NatureBridge, and also the walking trail that connects the venue to the Lake Crescent lodge. Great way to get a feel for the place and see a bit more of Lake Crescent, including a nice place for a swim. Plenty of informational signs!
Guided canoe rides will be available onsite for any guests on Saturday morning between 10am and 2pm. Rides are about an hour (safety training included) and are a fantastic way to explore the area. There will be a sign-up sheet onsite on Friday for those interested.
If you are interested in spending more time on the peninusla, Cape Flattery is a great pick. It is the northwesternmost point of the contiguous United States; stunning, with a short/accessible hike to the viewpoint. Cape Flattery is about an hour and a half northwest of NatureBridge. Please be sure to get a permit from the Makah Tribe at Washburn's General Store or the Makah Museum when you are passing through Neah Bay. If you are heading this direction, other great places to check out are Shi Shi beach and the Hall of Mosses.
The Hurricane Ridge area offers beautiful views of the Olympic Mountain Range with a number of great hiking opportunities in the areas, as well as a scenic drive. It's about an hour southeast of NatureBridge. It has also been a Peters family vacation spot since 1969!
Make a vacation of it! There's no better time to explore the Pacific Northwest. If you would like recommendations for exploring Seattle, other national parks, the San Juan Islands, or Washington's wine country, we would be happy to provide.
