Wear what makes you feel good! The welcome dinner on Friday will be casual - anything goes. For the wedding on Saturday, we'd suggest cocktail attire (a dress, a suit, pants and a coat, a jumpsuit, etc.) We'll be on grass, so select shoes accordingly. Weather is typically nice this time of year (low 70sF/20sC during the day) but can be variable and will cool off at night, so layers are advisable. We are encouraging all guests to get comfortable for late night festivities -- don your best sweatsuit and meet us by the fire!
Yes. We've recently learned from the venue they will be requiring us to verify that all guests have had a negative COVID-19 test, regardless of vaccination status. The venue has requested the following: an at-home antigen test taken within 24 hours of check-in (just take a photo of a piece of paper with your name and the date next to a negative test), OR a negative PCR test taken within 96 hours. When you check-in we'll have you sign a quick sheet from the venue, and be on your way. Thank you all very much your effort to help us comply with the venue's requirements.
Yes, however, you do NOT need to show proof of vaccine at check-in. For the safety of our guests and the community, we will be asking that all eligible guests be fully vaccinated to attend. If you do not wish to be vaccinated, we ask that you sit this one out, and we will share the love from afar.
Yes! In lieu of a traditional guestbook, we are asking folks who are interested to send a brief note via email to Karin Neufeld at kneufel2@jhmi.edu. She will collate them for us to read in the days and years to come.
Yes, parking will be available onsite. We'll have someone on Friday directing traffic who can point you in the right direction. That being said, please do carpool if you are able!
Absolutely! This is a summer camp, so kids will have a great time. We'll have homemade mac and cheese and lots of kid friendly activities. Please do be aware that the lakeshore is open and unsupervised. It's also liable to be noisy Saturday night :). If you have any questions or concerns, let us know - we will do our best to make your family comfortable.
You bet. Please just let us know when you RSVP and we'll be sure to inform the chefs.
Unfortunately National Park regulations do not allow us to pitch tents at NatureBridge, but there's plenty of cabin space for those interested.
Of course - we'd love to have you around for as much of the weekend as you are able! You can review the Schedule page and RSVP accordingly. For meals, please just let us know if you are an "I'll take all the meals!" or a "Just apps and dinner at the wedding for me" person by RSVPing to the relevant events. Regardless, please feel free to come hang out onsite as much you'd like. Our goal is to spend quality time with everyone and share this beautiful place with you all.
NatureBridge is an outdoor education program. At the Olympic Peninsula site, the team offers overnight environmental science programs in cool things like forest ecology, watershed science, and geology. All the wedding monies are feeding back into program operations and financial scholarships for students.
