Rashmi and Naveen's story is a beautiful blend of deep friendship and love, evolving naturally and feeling like it was always meant to be. Their journey began long before they were together as a couple—back in their childhood when they first crossed paths in kindergarten. However, it wasn’t until grade 6 that their bond truly started to grow, and by grade 11, they had become best friends, inseparable in many ways.

Despite their close friendship, people often assumed there was more to Rashmi and Naveen's connection. Naveen confessed to Rashmi that he loved her end of 2012. But it wasn’t until 2015, on the night of February 28th, that things truly changed. Rashmi, with her usual boldness, asked Naveen out—marking the moment when their bond took a new turn. Naveen, always thoughtful and cautious, responded with a playful, “Let me think about it,” before finally giving his answer: a heartfelt “YES.” From that moment on, their friendship evolved into something deeper—a loving, supportive relationship. And having your best friend by your side through that transition? There’s nothing quite like it.

Growing up on the islands, Rashmi and Naveen were both ambitious and career-focused, but always dreaming bigger than what they knew. With Rashmi's adventurous spirit leading the way, they both set their sights on the U.S., determined to explore new opportunities together. Even though their grad school journeys took them to Texas and Indiana, their bond only grew stronger. Despite the distance, they always found ways to make time for each other—whether through surprise visits, late-night calls, or planning trips together—keeping their relationship alive and thriving no matter where life took them.

After overcoming the challenges of grad school, Rashmi and Naveen’s journey brought them to San Diego—a place that would become more than just home. In the midst of the pandemic, they spent countless hours together, growing closer and learning more about each other than ever before. With their love deepening, they navigated the highs and lows of life, learning to compromise and grow stronger as a couple. In September 2020, their little family grew with the arrival of Hope, their pet, marking the beginning of their journey as pet parents. Through it all—disagreements, tears, and joy—they created a true home, surrounded by their chosen family and their shared dreams. Travel and food remained their constant passions, and as they faced the future together, they also bought their first home—another milestone in their ever-evolving love story.
