Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Kate Black and Nathan Ambrose
If you're traveling in from out of town, we hope you'll enjoy some of our favorite things to do on a weekend in Rockford! Something we love about this area is the incredible local scene.

Beloit Farmers' Market

400 East Grand Avenue, Beloit, WI 53511

Beloit is about 25 minutes from downtown Rockford! This is our FAVORITE way to spend a Saturday morning! The farmers' market spans a couple of blocks, filled with beautiful flowers, good food, and a kid's section. While you're there, be sure to check out Bushel & Pecks on the corner to get your Spotted Cow fix (and all the other goodies they offer)!

Wired Café

414 East State Street, Rockford, IL 61104

While Rockford has an awesome coffee scene, this is Kate's favorite. The owner, Joshua, and the resident barista, Maggie, are sure to make your day. And, it's 2 minutes from the venue! Other coffee shops to check out are: Inzombia, Meg's Daily Grind, and Rockford Roasting Company which is attached to the hotel you'll stay at!

Rockford Art Deli

402 East State Street, Rockford, IL 61104

Right next door to Wired Cafe! This is a super cool local clothing store that screen prints all their merch by hand. They have a shop dog named Pepper, and her presence alone is worth stopping by to see!

SRM Prints Studio & Gift Shop

330 East State Street, Rockford, IL 61104

This shop is across the street from Wired Cafe and the Art Deli. The store is owned by the wife of the mayor of Rockford, her name is Sarah, and she also screen prints all her work by hand! She has all kinds of knick-knacks, cool stationary, greeting cards, and things of that artistic nature.

Crust & Crumbles

116 North Madison Street, Rockford, IL 61107

This bakery is two minutes from the venue and Wired Cafe. The pastries (to us) are comparable to the incredible pastries we've tasted abroad. Do not miss out!!

Nicholas Conservatory & Gardens

1354 North 2nd Street, Rockford, IL 61107

The conservatory is a stunning building on the river near downtown. Here, you can visit inside the conservatory, their outdoor walking path, and the bike trail along the river which ends near Kate's work! (A big stone house with a green roof.)

The Norwegian

1402 North Main Street, Rockford, IL 61103

Nate and Kate's favorite place for a brunch date! The morning's can be a little packed, but it's beyond worth the wait. Additional brunch places to check out: Stockholm Inn, Johnny Pamcakes, and Lydia's Cafe.

Winnie Nutter Vintage Shop

1410 N Main St, Rockford, IL

This vintage shop is next door to The Norwegian. It's become one of Kate's favorite spots in town. The owner, Hollie, is an absolute delight. Her storefront is small but mighty - she always has something special for you to walk away with! While you're there, you should stop by Rooted which is attached next door, too.

Rockford

Rockford, IL

Here is the "Go Rockford" website. This is a go-to to find out what's happening in Rockford while you visit! Hopefully it can help give you some other ideas of places to adventure.
