Our Story

We met on a dating app but didn't actually meet in person until a month later.
First phone call? James was on a Shinkansen in Japan.
First FaceTime? Natasha was in Times Square in NYC.
We immediately connected over a love for the Tokyo Yakult Swallows and the desire to travel the world in a van.
After texting nonstop, Natasha finally flew to San Diego to have our first date.
James had brought her a Yakult Swallows hat from Japan.
Natasha proceeded to badly sprain her ankle, meet all of James' friends, and tell him she loved him all within a few days.
We knew from the start that our relationship would be unconventional.
We lived in France, traveling around Europe.
We quarantined in a studio apartment together in 2020.
We moved to Portland.
We did more long distance.
We rescued a tripod fur baby.
We traveled around Asia.
James proposed to Natasha at Mt. Fuji a day after attending a Yakult Swallows game in Japan.
It may be unconventional, but a love like this is exceptionally rare.
