FAQs

Question

What is the recommended attire for the wedding?

Answer

Come dressed to hang out with a lovely crew at a garden party/farm festival sort of wedding. Put on your nice duds, but not your nicest (no tuxes or formal wear required). Suits, slacks and a nice shirt, jumpsuits and dresses encouraged. For kids *of all ages* who want to participate in lawn games, we are going to keep them in the realm of nice-clothing-friendly (no tug of war as fun as that sounds). Shoes: keep in mind you'll spend most of the day walking on grass, perhaps leave the stilettos at home? Weather: Keep an eye on the forecast. August in Seattle could be hot and sweltering, on the chillier side with a need for layers, or there could even be moisture falling from the sky (we refuse to say the "r" word). Sometimes the weather also changes a bit last minute here too just to keep things interesting. :)

Question

What are the COVID requirements for the event?

Answer

First and foremost: if you are feeling ill or are within CDC's guidelines for still avoiding people due to a recent case of COVID, please stay home. We have waited two years to have as safe a celebration as possible and we want to see you ALL, we also want to keep everyone as safe as possible. That said, we are planning an entirely outdoor event, rain or shine (with a tent), to help keep everyone as comfortable with the heat (forecast for 83 degrees and sunny) and safe as possible. There are currently no masking, vaccination, or testing requirements for the venue. Masks are encouraged for anyone who feels safer wearing one. If someone is wearing a mask, please respect them and give them a little extra distance, but also consider donning a mask if you're speaking with them. And if anyone would like to sit on a blanket out on the lawn to eat to have extra space while eating, we will have some blankets on hand so people can social distance as they feel comfortable. (And locals, if you're able to bring your own blanket, please do so as we have quite a few people traveling from far away).

Question

I am COVID cautious, how can I take care of myself during the wedding?

Answer

You are more than welcome to wear a mask whenever it feels comfortable to you and stand up in the back or to the sides of the chairs during the ceremony (but please make sure you don't block the photographers!). And please feel free to sit and eat out on the green lawn that has plenty of space for social distancing. We will provide some blankets for those traveling and if you're local and know you'll want some space, please bring lawn chairs or a blanket if you can.
