Q+A

Question

ISN'T THE WEDDING IN NIPOMO? WHY STAY IN PISMO BEACH?

Answer

You are correct. The wedding is in Nipomo. However, since it's a small ranch-like town, there are not a lot of lodging options. Pismo Beach is a close 15-minute drive with lots to see and do. Plus the beach is a step away to enjoy! You can also look for lodging in Grover Beach, Arroyo Grande, and Santa Maria. And if you're feeling lucky, beautiful San Luis Obispo is 30 minutes away from the venue.

Question

WHAT IS THE WEATHER LIKE?

Answer

Central Coast weather in November is considered to be mild and pleasant. In Nipomo, high temperatures range from 72°F to 66°, and low temperatures range from 48°F to 43°F. While Pismo Beach experiences a temperature range of an average low of 51.4°F (10.8°C) and an average high of 67.8°F (19.9°C). Days will be mildly hot and evening cool. A jacket or sweater is recommended. It is known to rain sometime mid-November. We will be indoors in a barn, but you can bring an umbrella for your peace of mind.

Question

CAN I STAY ANYWHERE ELSE BESIDES THE SANDCASTLE?

Answer

Yes! Feel free to explore other hotel/AirBnB options in Pismo Beach, Nipomo, San Luis Obispo, Grover Beach or Santa Maria. However, we were only able to block rooms at the Sandcastle Hotel. Please note that the wedding will take place during Veterans' Day weekend. Therefore, we strongly suggest you book your accommodations ahead of time. Pismo Beach and the surrounding areas attract a large amount of visitors during this holiday weekend.

Question

WHAT SHOULD I BRING TO THE WEDDING?

Answer

We strongly suggest bringing a sweater or jacket for the evening, closed-toe shoes suggested (venue has grass and gravel), an umbrella (optional), your love and support, as well as cash to tip your bartenders & participate in our "Baile del Dólar" dance!

Question

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

Answer

We encourage you to wear what makes you feel comfortable and fabulous, but appropriate for a wedding. Cocktail attire works great. For our fashionista friends who've asked, our theme is classy Mexican hacienda if you'd like to dress on theme (earth-toned colors: olive, light pink, burnt orange, browns). We do ask out of respect to the bridal party to refrain from wearing white, off-white, cream or ivory colors. Thank you!

Question

I AM NOT CATHOLIC. CAN I STILL ATTEND THE WEDDING MASS?

Answer

Of course! Everyone is welcomed, and we would love to have you witness and celebrate our union. Please take note of how important the ceremony is to the bride and groom, as well as their families. We encourage you to arrive early for the mass to have a great seat! NOTE: The shuttle will not pick up from the hotel once Mass starts.

Question

IS THERE PAKING AT THE CHURCH & VENUE?

Answer

Yes! If you decide not to take the shuttle service, there is free parking available at both locations.

Question

WILL THERE BE A CASH BAR?

Answer

No. Even better, an OPEN BAR! Limited drinks will be available during cocktail hour, wine or beer during dinner, and open bar after until last call! We kindly ask to tip your bartenders. Thanks!

Question

ARE YOU REGISTERED ANYWHERE?

Answer

Your presence is gift enough. However, if you are feeling generous and would like to help kickstart the newlyweds life together, we have two Cash registries linked on this site (see "Registry" tab). Letter envelopes and gift cards are also welcomed at the wedding.

Question

ARE CHILDREN ALLOWED?

Answer

Although we love your little ones, this is an adult only affair. Exception: Close family who’ve been notified already. Thank you for your understanding.
