Flight
For our guests from NYC, there has been a recent announcement of a direct flight from Avianca (JFK to Quito). It will run 5 times a week and the flight is about 6 hours and 10 minutes. From JFK to Quito, Avianca runs Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays (1:30am-6:40am). From Quito to JFK, Avianca runs Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays (5:00pm-12:10am). For one stop trips, we recommend a layover in Florida before continuing to Quito. For our international guests, generally speaking, we recommend a layover in Amsterdam before continuing to Quito.

Travel Note
Bear in mind that Quito is situated at 2,850 meters (9,350 feet) above sea level, and is located in the Andes Mountains. Because of this elevation, some altitude sickness is a possibility. Additionally, you will experience all four seasons due to Quito's weather patterns. It gets cold in the early morning and evenings, so bring something warm (especially if you get cold easily).
