Everyone should have Formal Attire—this means appropriate suits and dresses for our guests. Black tie is optional (and if you want to get super fancy)!
While altitude sickness can vary from person to person, many people staying for longer periods may experience this for a short moment. The symptoms are usually mild and can be alleviated with over the counter medication. Due to high altitudes, we advise guests to gradually acclimate and take breaks as needed. We encourage guests with any health concerns to follow up with their doctors regarding traveling to Ecuador—especially if you plan to hike and explore.
You totally do not have to worry about this as many locals also speak English and are very nice. If you happen to know some Spanish or consider yourself fluent, many locals appreciate the gesture.
Ecuador uses the US dollar. For those who are in the USA already, there is no need to exchange currency. Along with bringing some cash, many places also accept debit/credit cards and you can have it be charged in US currency.
We wish we could invite everyone, but unless it was specified in your invitation, we would prefer if it was just you. We will reach out if there may be more space for a +1.

Yes, to both questions! For those staying at Swissotel, there is a car service from there to Hotel Plaza Grande on the day of the wedding ceremony. You should discuss specifics with the concierge at the hotel once you arrive. Please check out our Travel & Accommodations page for additional information.
For those of you staying at the Swissotel, there is a car service. It is approximately $35 per vehicle (seats 3). When completing your reservation, you should note that you would like a car service to and from the airport to the hotel. If you would like to arrange this, you must discuss this with the Swissotel staff.
Yes! Act as you would going to any other foreign country you are going to. Stay vigilant of your surroundings, don't wear too much flashy jewelry, and use your best discretion, and everything will be ok!
It is recommended that after 7/8 pm, you move around through private taxis/ubers. During the day time, it is safe to walk around, but we would also advise using your discretion.
