We're Getting Married!

Amanda and James’ lives have been intertwined before they even knew each other, from belonging to the same parish to working in the same shopping center, they’ve nearly met on few occasions throughout the years but the time was not right until they both swiped right. Their first date did not go exactly as planned. What was supposed to be a nice first date at Swell Taco in Babylon led to the two of them walking towards the local college bar known as Lily Flanagan's. While eatting Irish Nachos there, Amanda's friends prompted to ask if she was okay since they had her location and were concerned to see she was at the college bar before 7:30pm on a Saturday. Some notable and favorite first few dates were going out for margaritas on Cinco de Mayo, James and Amanda meeting at Target and him buying her a crossbody bag, and James bringing Amanda to her first Mets game. On May 14th, Amanda met James' friends and he asked her to be his girlfriend in the middle of Daytona's. She said yes. On July 9th, after a day of drinking on Fire Island, James said "I love you" at Houser's (even though he claims it was infront of Town Pizza eating cold cheese pizza). The first year of the relationship was spent making memories, spending nights at James' apartment in Queens or Amanda's apartment in Massapequa, and spending time with friends and family as a couple. James moved into Amanda's apartment in April of 2023. They love calling Massapequa their home. Fast-forward a year to May 2024. Amanda and James visited the Wine Country on the North Fork to celebrate their two year anniversary. During their trip they drank a lot of wine and also attended a class where they could make their own red wine. Oh, and James also proposed to Amanda! James popped the question on a dock in Greenport because Amanda specifically said "do not propose to me in Greenport", so he knew she would not be expecting it. Very smart on his part because it is tough to surprise her with anything. Amanda did not say yes right away because James forgot to ask the question after he got down on one knee. James claims that he did not ask the question right away because Amanda would not stop saying "oh my god". As an engaged couple, the two continue to travel, make adult purchases like buying a new couch, and motivate each other to workout and eat healthier. James and Amanda are so excited to start this new chapter together! They are so grateful for all their family and friends to celebrate their love for eachother!
