March 29, 2015 is a date I will never forget. I had chosen to attend Overlake Church with my sisters, as they had been persistent about getting me to join them for a Sunday service. Little did I know that it would be the best decision I would ever make (for multiple reasons). My eye was quickly caught by a beautiful woman, singing on stage, and I'm not sure I remember much else from that point on. She was stunning in so many ways and I hadn't even met her or introduced myself yet! Lucky for me she turned out to be one of my sisters close friends and I found my opportunity. If only I had known that 3 years later I would have the opportunity to marry the women of my dreams...and I met her when I least expected it.

On the 3 year anniversary from when we met and after a long day of special date activities with Casey, we found ourselves at the frozen Minnehaha Falls in Minneapolis. I did my best to hide the ring in my jacket as we toured around the beautiful park and made our way down to a little bridge near the waterfall. I had one last secret up my sleeve, as we approached the bridge and I revealed to her that I created a secret Instagram account commemorating the last 3 years. It was a little inside joke that I would never get an Instagram account, so it was fun to surprise her. What she would come to realize as I showed her the account, was that it wasn't commemorating our 3 year, but asking a very important question that would alter the rest of the years of our lives. The Instagram account consisted of six pictures that were taken in places that were super meaningful to us from back in Washington state. The signs in each picture read, "Casey Will You Marry Me?" and the 6th was a picture of the ring and a heart. Once she got to the last picture I got down on a knee in the middle of the bridge with the waterfall as my backdrop. She ecstatically said Yes to a life together and we couldn't be happier.
