6-Month Reminder

We are officially less than 6 months out until our wedding on January 15, 2022! We are so excited to see you all. So much has changed since our original date! We have a second cat, several of our friends have additional babies, vaccines are available, and mullets are apparently a thing again? (Please, only tasteful mullets at the reception preferably for the pictures). With so much changing, including a spring wedding becoming a winter one, we need to update RSVPs! COVID-19 Safety As a quick update, we are keeping a close eye on COVID-19 cases and the Delta variant. For the safety of our guests, we will be requiring vaccination for all vendors and guests who attend our wedding. We will also ask vendors and guests to keep up with any boosters that may be recommended over the next 6 months. If you are traveling from outside the area, we encourage guests to get tested prior to arriving in Chicago. RSVPS Our RSVP deadline is Friday, October 15, 2022. You can RSVP on our website for the wedding and post-wedding brunch here: https://www.zola.com/wedding/nancyandkelson. If you have any issues RSVPing, feel free to contact us at wonghughes1@gmail.com. Hotel Blocks We have finalized and set up our room blocks at three hotels in Chicago. You can book your room at Hyatt House, the Ace Hotel, and the Palmer House using our group link or group code by clicking on the "Travel" link on our website. The cutoff date for room reservations is December 15, 2022. Stay safe and we’ll see you soon! Nancy and Kelson

Change the Date! New Plan!

January 15, 2022

We hope your dancing shoes can wait a little longer! We are rescheduling our wedding for the third and final time! After three years of waiting to hang out with each other for the rest of our lives, we will officially be getting married on Saturday, January 15, 2022, at Loft Lucia in Chicago, IL. With MLK Day the following Monday, we hope the extended weekend will allow you time to travel safely and celebrate with us. Please note that we will be requiring vaccination for the safety of all of our guests. In the meantime, be safe and be well, and we hope to see you on the dance floor in the new year! To RSVP for our wedding, please click "RSVP" button near the top of the webpage. Please RSVP by Friday, October 15, 2021. We love you and miss you all greatly!

Wedding Postponement - Part 2 and 3

Updated 7/19/20

Hello Again! The exclamation mark may imply more enthusiasm than the author intended. So uh, that next great medical thriller we didn't want to kick off with our wedding? Still happening, worse even then when it started. And the whole government getting stern thing? As of today, roughly half the guest list wouldn't be allowed in Chicago without quarantining for two weeks on arrival. So either we host the worst season of Real World/Big Brother/etc. ever from our family lockdown hotel, or we do the responsible thing and postpone again. Trust us, we want nothing more than to celebrate with you all, but that means waiting until it is safe to do so. We have tentatively arranged for a new date of 3/27/2021, but we advise you hold off on making any travel arrangements until things look more certain. For now, I guess Save the Date? Yeah, we're back to the Save the Date stage. Stay safe out there, Kelson and Nancy -- Hello Friends and Family, With great regret we must inform you all that our wedding will need to be delayed. You may have heard, but a tiny little bundle of self replicating malice is turning the world upside down. We love you all, and would feel terrible if our reception became the prologue sequence for the next great medical thriller. Also, the government is going to start looking sternly at groups of more than 10. In all seriousness, we thank you all for being understanding in this frustrating time. We want nothing more than to celebrate with all of you. We are working with our venue and vendors to arrange an alternate date later in the year, and we hope you all will be able to join us tentatively on Friday, September 4, 2020. We understand in advance if any of you can't make it work. More info hopefully coming soon.

How We Met

September 2015

In 2015, Kelson and I met through the Hartford 20s and 30s MeetUp Group. We had a lot of great adventures like singing karaoke at Butterfly Chinese Restaurant, happy hour at Tisane's, random trips to the beach, and Jazz in the park. The first time that we hung out together, we went on a hike that was supposed to last an hour and ended lasting almost 3 hours. On our way back, we were trapped in traffic for 4 hours, and we ended up becoming fast friends after that experience. Over the next year, we binge watched an entire season of Avatar, the Last Airbender together and even traveled to Australia and New Zealand to see Hobbiton, the Glow Worms, and the Opera House in Sydney. We realized that we brought each other a lot of joy, and we ended up dating shortly after. We met each other's family and friends, and we road-tripped across the country with our favorite buddy Chester (the cat). We've spent the last few years moving from Connecticut to Florida and then D.C. We've made new friends, picked up new hobbies, and learned more about ourselves. During that time, Kelson and I proposed to each other, and we have grown closer every day leading up to the wedding. Life has taken us on some wild journeys, and we've seen the world in the last few years. Now, we hope that our world can come together to meet one another at our wedding!
