In Germany, we have a saying about April: ‘April, April, macht was er will,’ which means ‘April does what it wants.’ This is because the weather can be very changeable — sunny and warm one moment, rainy or even chilly the next! So for late April in Wernigerode, expect mild spring temperatures, but it’s a good idea to bring layers and a light jacket. It’s all part of the charm of German spring!
The dress code for the entire Saturday is formal. We kindly request bright, vibrant colors and ask guests to avoid black or white. For Friday and Sunday, feel free to wear whatever you like. Children should also dress slightly formal, though of course very young babies are the exception.
Since we will probably be moving soon, we don't need physical gifts yet. Besides, having you with us is the most important thing and the greatest gift of all. If you still want to give us something, you can help us with the costs of furnishing our next apartment or financing our honeymoon trip to Indonesia. Thanks
For our main meal, we will make sure to have a vegetarian option, and our snacks will include vegetarian choices as well. For vegan guests or those with food allergies, please let us know in advance so we can arrange a suitable option.
Yes — children are very welcome! They are an important part of our lives and a priority for us. Here are a few things to keep in mind as a guest: Every child is different — some may be shy and quiet, others energetic, noisy, and a little chaotic. If you can’t handle that, maybe skip the comments… we’re serious! 😄 For families with kids, we understand that every child has their own needs and may require breaks or distractions. It’s completely fine if they can’t participate in every activity or event. Just a reminder: during our special days, we won’t be able to entertain or look after children, but we do look forward to enjoying every little moment with them that we can! Thank you so much for your understanding and cooperation
