FAQs

We can't wait to celebrate our marriage with you! We've put together some information below to help you plan for our wedding weekend. Don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions: dharsirajwani@gmail.com
Question

I'm coming from out of town. Where should I stay?

Answer

We've arranged a room block at the Westin DFW, with discounted pricing ($85 plus tax for standard rooms; $109 plus tax for suites) for all of our guests. The hotel offers a free shuttle to and from Dallas Fort-Worth International Airport, which is on the other side of the highway. RSVPs for the wedding will open in September but you're welcome to book your room early if you'd like! Here is the link: https://tinyurl.com/rajwanidharsihotel

Question

How will invites and RSVPs work?

Answer

We'll send formal invitations with everything you need to know later this summer and start accepting RSVPs at that time. We request that all guests RSVP by November 1, 2021 so we can have an accurate head count to prepare for the big day :)

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

Welcome to Dallas, all of you out-of-towners! The weather here can be funny. Last year, temperatures ranged from highs in the 60s and the 50s during this same week. Sometimes it's cold and rainy in the winter, and sometimes winter feels more like spring. All of our ceremonies will be indoors so everyone can be comfortable, regardless of the weather. Please bring layers just to be safe!

Question

Where should I park?

Answer

Parking will be free at all of our venues.

Question

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

Answer

All of our ceremonies will be held indoors with the exception of Raheel's egging (Friends who aren't familiar with this tradition: Yes, you read that right. Egging the groom the day before his wedding is a thing.)

Question

Is it okay to take pictures with our phones and cameras during the wedding?

Answer

Yes! We would love for you to take photos of the festivities. Hashtag to come!

Question

Will there be any activities happening that I need to know about?

Answer

If you've never been part of an Ismaili Muslim/Pakistani wedding before, welcome! The Nikkah is a religious ceremony for a Muslim couple to be legally wed under Islamic law. Traditionally, the Nikkah for Ismailis takes place at a Jamatkhana with the couple's family and friends in attendance. Our Nikkah will take place Saturday afternoon at Mid-Cities Jamatkhana in Euless. For those who haven't attended a Nikkah ceremony before, feel free to shoot us a message and we can help you decide what to wear. Friends, please note that we may have to limit our guests to family only if COVID-19 capacity restrictions are still in place at the time of the wedding. We will do our best to keep you posted on any changes.

Question

What about COVID-19?

Answer

The vast majority of our guests are already fully vaccinated. We hope to get our booster shots by the wedding and we ask that those who become eligible for a booster shoot take theirs as well so we can help protect our most vulnerable guests, who include elderly individuals, pregnant women, and young children. Guests who wish to wear a mask to the wedding are welcome to do so as well :)
