We met at Penn State in 2006 as we started our first lab dissection (!!) in our undergrad freshman Bio 101 class. It wasn’t until a bit into the year that we started talking but the more we talked, the closer we became. By the time first year came to an end, we’d grown close and knew we had something special but we found ourselves heading in different directions and to different locations. We knew we had to work to maintain a long distance relationship. The rest, as they say, is history. For over 10 years, despite the long distance, we’ve chased every opportunity to spend time together. It hasn’t been easy with us being so far --Nadia went on to medical school in Philadelphia and I went on to dental school in Buffalo and the long-distance relationship continued as she went off to Missouri for residency and I went off to residency in Indianapolis — but to quote one of Nadia’s favorite songs, no mountain has been too high, nor any valley too low to keep us apart. By plane or by car, rain or shine, we have made every effort to see each other as often as possible. As our (longgg) education journey nears an end, we are SO excited to finally get married and settle down together. We are so thankful to our family and friends for their unconditional love and support!
