Things To Do

If you love nature, history, and art then New Mexico has plenty of fun things to do! Here are some of our favorites and local's recommendations, all in the SF and ABQ area! Art lovers, We couldn't possibly list all of the museums and art galleries in town, so we highly recommend to do your research. Pro-tip: there's a whole Georgia O'Keefe museum. Nature enthusiasts, do your research on the endless amount of hiking trails and campgrounds in the state. This is one of the bests spots in the country! If you want to leave SF and ABQ, feel free to reach out to us for recommendations. Los Alamos and the Valle Caldera are only an hour drive away. Roswell and Ruidoso are about a 3 hour drive south. Taos is about 1.5 hours north.
Santa Fe Plaza

Santa Fe Plaza

Smack dab in the center of downtown, there is where you should start when exploring the most historic part of Santa Fe!

Santa Fe Railyard Arts District

Santa Fe Railyard Arts District

544 South Guadalupe Street, Santa Fe, NM 87501

We come here regularly for Saturday farmer's market, to see a movie at Violet Crown - which also shows indie films regularly for you film buffs, or grab a drink at As Above So Below (our personal favorite cocktail lounge in Santa Fe). There's a variety of markets, shops, restaurants, breweries, and plenty of events in the summertime! Also, if you're a Game of Throne fan, George R.R. Martin, a Santa Fe Resident, just opened a new medieval themed bar in this area!

Ten Thousand Waves

Ten Thousand Waves

Japanese architecture and culture meets hotel, spa, and restaurant. We absolutely love it here. Reserve a private hot tub at the spa, book a massage, or have some delicious Izakaya style Japanese-fusion food. We come here multiple times a year for special occasions. One of our personal favorite restaurants in town is here at Izanami! Another perk? Gorgeous views from the base of the mountain.

Hyde Memorial State Park

Hyde Memorial State Park

740 Hyde Park Road, Santa Fe, NM 87501

Hyde Memorial State Park is just past Ten Thousand Waves Spa going up into the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, and provides access to tons of beautiful hiking trails and campgrounds! Just maybe bring some bear spray with you if you decide to go off trail.
