FAQs

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

Please arrive 30 minutes before the ceremony.

Question

What's the dress code?

Answer

Our dress code is cocktail attire. Please avoid wearing terracotta adjacent colors, as that is what our wedding party will be wearing. For an exact color, see the color Cinnamon on any David’s Bridal dresses online.

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

Only if a plus one has been designated on your RSVP. We have limited space, sorry!

Question

What's the weather like this time of year?

Answer

Summer in Santa Fe can be pretty bipolar. Mid June is typically the start of the monsoon season in the Southwest US. Random afternoon/evening thunderstorms or rainstorms are possible, but tend to be quick and short lived. But if it's not raining, temps are typically in the 80s and sunny. Pro-tip: The sun is strong here, wear SPF when spending a lot of time outside. We will watch the forecast when the time comes!

Question

What should I expect from the high altitude?

Answer

Santa Fe is above 7000 ft in elevation, a stark difference than Illinois or Texas. Be prepared to be a bit out of breath or tired, don't exercise as hard you normally do, drink lots of water, wear SPF, and MOISTURIZE! It's very dry here. Some people may experience altitude sickness, so prepare accordingly if you're one of them. Also, alcohol will hit you harder here than at sea level, so drink responsibly!

Question

Are kids invited?

Answer

Typically yes. If we have designated your child on the RSVP, they are invited! If they are not designated on there, please find alternative accommodations.

Question

Do I have to stay at the hotels with room blocks?

Answer

No of course not! Santa Fe can be an expensive place, so I understand if it's out of your budget. Cerrillos road has cheaper hotels options that you can select, but please contact Nadia/Jesus for recommendations first. There are other cheaper options around downtown Santa Fe as well. We recommend you have a rental car if you do not stay in downtown, and have a designated driver to drive you back safely. If you'd like, you can also split an AirBnB with other people to bring down the cost and have a larger space to yourselves! Santa Fe has plenty of AirBnBs available.

Question

Red, Green, or Christmas?

Answer

In case you didn't already know, New Mexico is chile capital of the world! They loooove their hatch chile here, and if you go to any new mexican style restaurant, they're gonna ask you: "Red, Green, or Christmas?" That's them asking you if you want your dish with red chile, green chile, or both. Be careful though, it can be pretty spicy.

Question

Do you have a registry?

Answer

Yes! Please click on the registry tab above to access it. We would prefer cash donation to our honeymoon fund.

Question

Will the event be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Both! Our ceremony will be held on the rooftop terrace overlooking the cathedral across the street, and dinner/dancing will be held indoors in the attached event space, though if the weather is nice we will keep the window/doors open!

Question

Should I rent a car?

Answer

It depends! If you'd like to explore New Mexico and leave Santa Fe, then yes I definitely recommend it. If you plan on just staying a day or so with no plans to leave downtown Santa Fe (which is walkable!) then I think you could get away with not renting a car as long you find transportation to and from the airport.

Question

What restaurants do you recommend?

Answer

Though small, Santa Fe has some delicious food around! A lot have even been featured on the food network. Some of our regular spots are: Jambo Cafe, Timetraveller’s Gastropub, Izanami, Fiesta Oaxaca, El Callejon, Coyote Cantina, Plaza Cafe, Ranch House, and Paper Dosa. There’s a lot more than that, so let us know if you want more recommendations!
