Just a short drive south of Flint is the location of the World's Greatest Breakfast Special. Before 11AM you can get, 3 eggs made any way, 2 sausage links, 2 pieces of bacon, 2 pieces of ham, hashbrowns and a choice of toast (You can sub a pancake for no charge) for $6.99. After 11AM the price is $7.99, a steal at any time. Fenton Coney Grill also offers classic diner favorites and Greek Fair representative of the Coney Islands of Mid Michigan.

Applewood Estate

The Applewood Estate is the former home of Charles Stewart Mott who was one of the key figures in the creation of General Motors and one of Flint's most important residents. This particular recommendation holds a special place in Brooke's heart as she interned and was employed by the Ruth Mott Foundation to help lead volunteer tour guides. Brooke fell in love with the house and the gardens and hopes to one day help the Foundation in some way again. The Applewood Estate features the beautiful 1916 mansion, an apple orchard featuring 71 varieties of apple trees, and numerous flower and plant gardens on the property. Unfortunately the main house is closed due to COVID-19 restrictions however a self led tour of the gardens is worth the trip by itself.

The first time that Cody visited Brooke in Michigan they went here with Brooke's family. It sticks out in Cody's memory as a really nice place to catch an afternoon snack.

Sloan Museum

A perfect stop for the casual auto enthusiast, the Sloan Museum specializes in the History or Genesee County specifically related to the local Auto Industry and the role of the Flint area in the creation of General Motors and Michigan as a hub for car manufacturers. Named for long time CEO of General Motors, Alfred P. Sloan the museum is a fun educational stop while you are in the area.
