Brittany and Matthew's journey together is one of fate. It began as Brittany made a last-minute decision to join her parents on a cruise departing from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where an unexpected love would form. She would meet a friend named Rachel, who was outgoing, and adventurous just as herself. On August 23, Brittany and Rachel made their way into the evening comedy show. Rachel gave a glare over to the bar and noticed a dashing gentleman with a group of handsome suitors sitting at the end of the bar. Motioning to Brittany, Rachel pointed over to the gentleman with excitement. She exclaimed, "Let's go sit with him and talk. It'll be fun!". Brittany was bashful and unprepared to be introduced. He introduced himself as Matt and looked fondly at Brittany. They seemed to both realize the beauty of each other, Matt noticing her natural elegance and gleaming brown eyes and Brittany looking fondly into his light hazel eyes and beaming smile. This stare would soon be interrupted by another suiter in Matt's party attempting to impart a significant impression on Brittany's affection to no avail. In the brief moment, the two lovers' eyes met a connection formed as if finding a missing piece of a puzzle. Shortly after, Rachel guided Brittany to new seats to better view the show. The star-crossed lovers would not meet again for another few nights. Days later, Matthew and his friends were getting ready to dance the night away at the nightclub onboard. On their way, as if by fate's hand, they ran into Brittany and her companion. Matthew and his group extended an invite, to which Brittany and Rachel graciously accepted. The club was vibrant, with uplifting spirits. As soon as the cupid shuffle came on, they all made their way to the dance floor, and a few songs later, Rachel, a professional dancer by no surprise, swiftly transferred Brittany into Matthew's arms. With this transition, the two lovers danced the night away. As the night settled, the two lovers took a moment to engage beyond the distractions of the music. Their conversation would lead to the realization that they only lived a state apart from each other and exchanged numbers the moment they realized.
