The “idea of Alexa and John” potentially being a very good idea was suggested by a number of our closest family and friends. Was it Mrs. Bicknese planting seeds back in 2019, or Alexa’s random run-in with the Wrights mid-pandemic in Nantucket? For the sake of maintaining this as an informational website, we’ll let the Bicknese family and Matt and Kristina settle this one in Portugal. Either way, the matchmakers didn’t officially get to work until 2020. Alexa was living in a foreign (to John) land called Brooklyn. John was post-law school, pre-bar, presently cohabitating with his parents in Connecticut and about to move back to New York City. He moved into his Chelsea apartment in December 2020 and asked Alexa out to dinner the very next day. We were immediately inseparable and found any excuse to extend our dates, which in the middle of a pandemic usually involved walking around the city - John pretending to like coffee and Alexa very happily hyped up. It took no time at all for us to realize that this love (and John’s caffeine addiction) was the real deal and the rest, as they really do say, is history. It’s been a couple of adventure-packed years filled with a lot of time in airports discussing John’s disbelief that Alexa *still* doesn’t have TSA Precheck. Most recently, we added a cute pup, Gibson, to our family. And the best is yet to come! We cannot wait to celebrate with you all in one of the most magical cities in the world!
