Our Story

Our story starts in 2019 when we were just two strangers at a bar. Yes, it was your typical love story. He saw me from across the bar, and offered to buy me a drink, and I couldn't be happier I said yes. His kind eyes, and smitten smile had my attention instantly. It was the start of something I never could've imagined. I invited Darrell to a party not long after this, I remember us talking all night, and telling my friend that I really liked him. At the end of the night, when I said I was leaving, he insisted on following me home just to make sure I got home safe. I said okay, and he followed me home on my 25 minute drive. When we got to my house, I thanked him and asked if he lived nearby, which he then proceeded to tell me he lived 40 minutes in the opposite direction. We went on our first date shortly after this. One of our favorite things to do together is to go on random adventures. There would be many times when we would have nothing to do so we would just get in his truck, and pick random directions of which way to go, and let the road take us somewhere. We've traveled to many beautiful places together and discovered the coolest places with each other, we share that same curiosity. The most memorable place we've traveled together was when we went to Germany this past summer. We started our trip in Denmark, visiting one of my best friends, and ended it in Belgium, with the world's best waffles! We ate, drank, laughed, and created the best memories together. Between that, we visited Germany, first Berlin, then a city that now holds a very special meaning to us, Heidelberg. We had been in Heidelberg for a few days, and had been absolutely loving it. The cobblestone streets, rich history, old churches, and beautiful architecture! This day in Heidelberg, the weather was rainy, and overcast, one of the only overcast days we've had. We had planned to go visit the famous castle on the hill this day & tour some churches. It definitely wasn't the best day for it, but we were making the most of our time left. We toured the castle in the pouring rain, with our matching rain jackets of course, I didn't even have to force him on that one.. After, we decided to head back to our hotel to dry off, and charge our phones, before heading back out for the day. As we laid in bed, both scrolling, or napping, he said "Can I ask you a question", and I turned, and he was holding out the most beautiful ring, and said "Will you be my wife?". It was truly the happiest moment of my life. Over six and half years we've shared life's ups and downs, learning together, growing together, and always choosing each other. We've built a love that is steady, patient, full of joy, and feels like home. On July 18, 2026, we'll celebrate our love with the people who have cheered us on along the way, and step into the next chapter of our story with excitement and gratitude. We're so excited to begin our forever.
