Fly into DIA: About 160 miles/2.5 hours from Salida. A beautiful drive going over Kenosha Pass, known for its fall foliage. Traffic can be an issue due to people "peeping" the leaves. An alternative route is 30 miles longer, and goes through Colorado Springs, avoiding Kenosha Pass if there is traffic. A bus route from DIA is also available (see below). Fly into CO Springs Airport: About 100 miles/2 hours from Salida, avoids some of the potential weekend traffic. Fly into Aspen Airport: About 80 miles/2 hours from Salida. This route will take you over Independence Pass, one of the most beautiful drives in Colorado.
Renting a car will be most convenient for those flying in. In addition, Ubers/Lyfts are VERY sparse in Salida. We were able to get discount rates at Budget (code: S274070) and Avis (code: J157617). We are hoping to minimize the burden by setting up a carpool group on GroupCarpool, where you can see other guest's car rental plans as well as share your own. This way, we are hoping some of you can share rentals rather than feel obligated to all rent individual cars. https://groupcarpool.com/t/xipcm2 Bus option: DIA to Union Station, 37 minutes (departs every 20 minutes); Union Station to Salida Chaffee Shuttle at 52 Jones Avenue EB, 3 hours and 48 minutes (departs 6:30am and 1:55pm, runs daily)
***THERE IS NO PARKING AT THE VENUE*** Shuttle service will be provided for all wedding guests from Salida (about a 15 minute ride to the venue). Pickup times/stops: TBD. See this page closer to our event for updated information. For return trips back to Salida, shuttles will depart from the venue throughout the night starting around 9:00 PM.
Please RSVP no later than 8/1/2026. Please let Morgan know ASAP where your lodging is booked so that she can arrange shuttle transportation to the venue.
Unfortunately, our guest count is extremely limited due to number of shuttle seats and the lack of parking at the venue. Only those listed on your invitation are able to attend our ceremony and reception. We would love to hang out with your significant other, kids, friends, etc. at our Friday welcome event, Saturday night afterparty, and Sunday morning farewell!
We would love to see our family and friends dressed up with us! Our theme is "Western elegance" with a dress code of cocktail attire. Cowboy hats/boots, bolo ties, florals/lace, and western jewelry are encouraged! The ceremony will be in an open field (weather permitting) and require walking through grass, so stiletto heels are not advised. Colorado weather is unpredictable. Please be prepared for cooler weather at the venue.
There will barbecue cooked over red-oak including tri-tip, chicken BBQ, and vegetarian options.
The drinks are on us, but the hangover is on you, so get ready to party! (Just no shots.) We ask that you drink responsibly and remember that alcohol hits harder at altitude if you’re traveling in; don’t forget to hydrate! For this reason, all guests will be required to take one of the provided shuttles to and from the venue.
We love your little ones and they are welcome to our welcome event and farewell games, but please note that our ceremony and reception are adults-only.
Salida sits at about 7,000 feet above sea level. At this elevation, the air is thinner, which means there’s less oxygen in each breath. Most visitors adjust just fine, but some may experience mild altitude symptoms such as headache, fatigue, lightheadedness, or shortness of breath, especially during the first day or two. Here are a few simple ways to help your body adjust comfortably: -Denver sits at about 5,280 feet, so spending a day or two there before heading to Salida will help your body to gradually adjust to the elevation. -Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! Drink plenty of water before and during your trip. The air is drier at higher altitudes, so dehydration happens faster. -Take it easy the first day or two. Avoid overexertion. Give your body time to acclimate. -Limit alcohol and caffeine at first, since they can worsen dehydration and fatigue. -Eat light, high-carbohydrate meals and get plenty of rest. -Mild symptoms can be relieved using ibuprofen or acetaminophen.
