You can take a short and gorgeous shuttle from Aspen Highlands area to it--- you can either hike along as far as you'd like or just scope out the scenery with a picnic. If you're looking for a more peaceful and tranquil space, we lovee Iron Mountain Hot Springs ( across the street from Glenwood Hot Springs). It has a spa-like feel to it, serves wine and beer and has direct views of the river/mountains as ya soak. You might want to visit this place the day after the wedding : )

During the fall, it's great to drive around Independence Pass and leaf peep the gorgeous foliage; a great place to stop for a picnic or stroll is the Grottos/Cascade Waterfall.

Mushroom Rock Hike

Super pretty hike right in between Glenwood Springs and Carbondale ( right off the highway too so it's easy to find). Not a very hard or long hike and you end with a gorgeous view of Mount Sopris.
