I Knew When I Met You an Adventure was Going to Happen

I moved to Edmond, Oklahoma in 2007 for college, by a last minute decision, and I'm so glad I did. After living there a year, I started working at Walmart. One day I called help to the area I worked in and John showed up with one of his coworkers. We said our hellos, he and his buddy helped the customer, and then they chatted for a bit before going back to their side of the store. After that, he would often stop by to say hi, chat, and check in on how things were going that day. After a few months, I let all my friends at Walmart know I was moving away. Once John found out, he asked for my number before I left, to which I asked "why", as I didn't understand why he'd want it. I am glad that I gave it to him, because he became my very best friend from that point on. Years went by, but we stayed in contact with each other. We were there for each other through all things: relationships, accomplishments, job changes, emotional ruts...any changes that life threw us. No matter what we went thru, the one never-changing factor was our friendship, that continued to grow and strengthen. Our feelings for each other were always there, but put to the side. It seemed like we always just missed our time, but we stayed a part of each other's life however we could, even if that meant just being the best friend we could. Now present day, 10 years later, that moment we always missed rolled around and this time John said he "wasn't going to let it slip by again". Now here we are, getting ready to marry our best friend. It's not very often that two people meet, move, go through years of life changes, and then end up together in the end. We are two of the lucky ones! We both always felt destined to be there for each other, however that may be, as we could never picture our lives without each other in it. But as we look back over the years that led to where we are now, we are thankful and happier than you can imagine that the place we were destined to be was ending with each other.

For all the days along the way
