Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Morgan Marie Stonehocker and Elias Daniel Anderson
If you're coming from far out of the area, you might consider staying a few days! Here's our favorite things to do around the Idaho Falls area.

Idaho Falls Greenbelt Trail

ID

The Greenbelt runs around the central portion of the Snake River in IF. To go all the way around both sides is about a five-mile walk, but there are plenty of shops, restaurants, and photo opportunities along the way! Bird electric scooters are also a fun way to go around the trail. On the other side of Broadway, just a bit off the trail, you can also stop and walk through the Japanese Friendship Gardens, one of our favorite places to relax in the sunshine and also one of the locations for our engagement photos.

Museum of Idaho

200 North Eastern Avenue, Idaho Falls, ID 83402

The Museum of Idaho is a staple in Idaho Falls! There are travelling exhibits as well as permanent installations about the history of our city and state. Explore a recreation of the Old West town of Eagle Rock (before it was renamed Idaho Falls), learn about the wildlife of the area, and learn about Idaho's surprising involvement in the history and creation of nuclear reactors. Oh, not to mention the giant mammoth!

Reed's Dairy

2660 West Broadway Street, Idaho Falls, ID 83402

Locally raised cows make the best dairy, and Reed's is a testament to it. Stop in and sample their rotating flavors of ice cream or pick up a fresh grilled cheese sandwich, and say hello to their little petting zoo goats, ponies, pigs, and cows!

Lava Hot Springs

ID

Lava Hot Springs is about an hour and 15 minutes south of Idaho Falls. It features multiple hot pools heated by the natural hot springs in the ground below, or an Olympic swimming pool with two water slides. We love to rent tubes there and float the section of the Portneuf River that flows right through town! It's the perfect way to stay cool in the middle of the summer. Campsites are also available, and The Royal pizza parlor is the best place to grab a bite at the end of the day.

Idaho Falls Zoo at Tautphaus Park

2940 Carnival Way, Idaho Falls, ID 83402

The best little zoo in Idaho! Take an afternoon and see an impressively wide array of animals from all over the world, from river otters and cranes to red pandas and lemurs. The conservation efforts at our zoo are quite impressive, and the animals are always a joy!
