We met on, get this, a spontaneous under-planned 24mile hike in Northern Washington. Our mutual friend (and Abbie's Maid of honor woot!) Ayla knew Ryan from PT school and Abbie from Colorado College. On the drive up to the Enchantments Ayla promptly crashed out in the back seat giving Abbie a lengthy four hour drive to ask Ryan a number of intrusive questions. The hike was full of incredible surprises including mountain goats, hitchhiking, a swim in an alpine lake, and food poisoning! Ryan also managed to forget his coat or any hiking boots (somehow still gaining Abbie's attention). After the hike we kept in touch for any excuse we could find, landing on a book club while neither of us had ever had any real interest in the book. We talked for seven months when Abbie traveled back to Ohio, and caught up when Abbie returned to visit Ayla in Portland. Ever since then we've been inseparable - traveled to seven countries, adopted a puppy (Chants - named after the Enchantments), and bought a home in Bend.
