Question

How do we get to and from the ceremony/reception?

Answer

We have arranged for transportation for all guests. Shuttles will leave from the Omni Hotel and go directly to the venue. We will also arrange for a smaller shuttle to leave from The Draftsman. We do ask that guests who are able make their way to the Omni as that hotel can accommodate the larger shuttles. There is also parking if anyone decides they would like to drive there independently, but we'd prefer guests take the shuttles so we can ensure everyone's safety!

Question

How long is the drive to the venue?

Answer

The shuttles will take about 35-40 minutes to get to the venue from downtown Charlottesville. We know that's a decent ways, but we hope for good weather so you can see that the views are worth it!

Question

Will the ceremony/reception be outside or inside?

Answer

The ceremony will be outside (pending weather). November 1st in Virginia can be a very wide range of temperatures, so we recommend checking the forecast while packing and brining a top layer and/or scarf if necessary. We will have a place to store jackets. After the ceremony, cocktail hour will be primarily outside while dinner is being prepared, but there will be some indoor space available for those who get chilly. Dinner and the reception will be inside. Outdoor spaces will still be available throughout the reception to cool down between your favorite dancing songs!

Question

What is "smart casual" attire? (Dress code for welcome drinks)

Answer

By smart causal, we mean polished but not overly formal, allowing for comfort and style. The emphasis is on looking put-together while incorporating some personal flair. Lean in to fall colors, wear fun patterns, and be comfortable! For example, women should feel free to wear blouses, button-ups, or fun dresses and should not feel the need to put on a fancier dress and heels. Men could wear any kind of nice shirt, sweater, or blazer - suits and ties are not necessary unless you have a particularly fun Halloween tie you want to show off.

Question

What is "cocktail" attire? (Ceremony/Reception Dress Code)

Answer

By cocktail attire, we mean semi-formal dress without being black tie. For women, this means cocktail dresses that are usually knee-length or longer. Dressy, tailored jumpsuits, suits, or separates are also wonderful options! For men, anything between a nice blazer + dress shirt to a suit and tie is perfect.

Question

How do I RSVP and when do we need to submit the RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP by October 1 through the RSVP section of the website!

Question

How do I let you know about allergies and food restrictions?

Answer

When you RSVP! We will make sure there is a space to leave us that information so we can make sure all accommodations are made and you can eat safely!

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

As space is limited, we can only accommodate guests who have been formally invited through your wedding invitation. All guest names will be listed on the invitation!

Question

Are vegetarian or other options for those with dietary restrictions available for dinner?

Answer

There will be vegetarian options in the family-style meal, and you can let us know about any special dietary requirements you may have in your RSVP!

Question

Will children be allowed to attend?

Answer

We kindly ask that no young children be present at the ceremony and reception, although we would love to have them at the welcome drinks on Friday! If you require childcare for the day of the wedding, please reach out to us and we can help you coordinate with other parents attending the wedding.

Question

And rather than an FAQ - more of an FYI...

Answer

We will have an open bar for the entirety of the celebration!

For all the days along the way
