We would love for our wedding to be your night off from parenting, but if that is not a realistic possibility (especially due to traveling), we understand! Kids are welcome at the reception, but please be advised: If Monica hears a crying baby during the ceremony she will involuntarily mutate into her kaiju monster form and lay waste to Flushing. We suggest you take any children who might get fussy for a walk around the grounds while the ceremony is ongoing. Thank you!
I'm afraid not! A car should get you to the venue in 30 minutes or less if you're staying anywhere in the five boroughs. Or you can take the 7 train to the last stop, Main Street. It's a 12-15 minute walk from there to the garden so you may want to finish your journey in a taxi (which will be cheaper than taking a taxi from your original starting point, at least).
Yes! We have arranged complimentary parking for our wedding guests. Please tell the attendant you are here for the Kautz/Sterling wedding. The parking entrance is on Crommelin Street, between Blossom Avenue and Dahlia Avenue.
You sure can! Please let us know on your RSVP card. And give us the name of your date so we can put it on the seating chart!
Our theme is Fantasy and we would love to look out at all your beautiful faces and see a cornucopia of mermaids, warlocks, faeries, fauns, witches, vampires, elves, dragons, demons, etc. Fairy tale adventurers of all types are highly encouraged but if that isn't your jam, keep it classy in fancy cocktail attire. In any case, please be colorful. Check out the Attire Inspiration tab for visual reference. Please note this is an outdoor venue, which means you should avoid stilettos and go for wedges or chunky heels instead.
Indeed! We'll make sure there are vegan appetizers, mains, and desserts. Gluten free, too!
The reception is also at the Queens Botanical Garden. The ceremony will take place in the Wedding Garden, which is visible on Google Maps (there's a little green marker inside the park). Just past the Wedding Garden is the Terrace in front of the administration building and that is where the reception will take place.
There will be approximately one hour between the conclusion of the ceremony and the start of the reception during which the wedding party will be obliged to take photos. Light refreshments will be served on the Terrace during this time. We highly recommend you take this opportunity to explore the grounds of the Botanical Garden. Check out the rose garden, herb garden, and apiary, etc. You will have the place all to yourself! Please take your own photos and share them with us.
Please do not take the centerpieces; we need to use them again in Texas! However, should any strike your fancy we would be happy to earmark them for you.
